Johnny Depp slashes throats and sings along

No, it's not "yo-ho". That's so last...months? Anyway,
it's the Burton-Depp team coming to take over the world! And I for one love it.

Hurray for (human) meat pies!

Thoughts on this?

I'm personally sick of Depp-Burton. Does Burton not realise that other actors and actresses exist?! Even though the movie looks good, I still think he needs to break out of his comfort zone and find someone else to play in his roles.

The singing aspect is interesting...Never heard Johnny sing!

Every director has a muse. Scorcese had De Niro and now Di Caprio. This is no different.

Ed Wood is among my all-time favorite movies....
But it seems to me as though Burton has gone downhill since then.

And soon...DiLucia!

And I can't believe I haven't seen Ed Wood yet. I need to see it.

As for Sweeny Todd...it looks interesting. I found a vinyl record of this production a while ago in my grandparent's basement. It had Angela Lansbury in it. I laughed.

Heh. I agree that Burton's not been the same since Ed Wood, but I don't blame Depp for that.

When you get someone like Depp, that likes acid, and you get someone like Burton, that likes props, the movies can only go so far.

Cyan didn't quite suit the web design.

IE. Tu sir. This is your last Wa. Enjoy. *slashes throat* Ah! This must be where you huh!

I personally love all of Burton's films that I've seen, and "The Nightmare Before Christmas" is rivaled only by "The Iron Giant" and "Toy Story" for my best animation films (albeit, Depp wasn't in it, but you get the idea).

Sleepy Hollow, Corpse Bride, Charlie, all great Burton/Depp films. I say keep them coming.

hear, hear

A friend and I are having a Burton-Depp marathon this weekend. The Corpse Bride, Charlie & the Chocolate Factory, Edward Scissorhands, Chocolat (fine, not Burton, who cares? it's Johnny Depp and chocolate.), Nightmare before Christmas, etc.

As a remake to the godly original, it blows, but as a stand alone film, I liked it. Had to put Gene Wilder out of my mind while watching it, thou.

Yeah, it wasn't a great remake. Kinda creepy too. Willy Wonka came across as a paedo.

I could see Wonka be a peado in the film, but it's Johnny Depp, so his awesomeness from "Blow" and the slight references to a peado cancel each other out. Everyone wins.

"Blow" was awesome although I'm not sure we should use that word in the same sentence as paedo.
