lmao! How cool, I'd never heard/read anybody use that expression in real life except from every jew (myself included) around me. ^^
Do you know what it means?? lol

i love the fact you automatically question non-jewish people's knowledge of jewish things

I wasn't questioning, I was curious. I'm not used to non-jewish people knowing this kind of stuff, since Judaism isn't as "publicised" here as it is on other countries...I remember being in the States; you walk around and you see menorahs right beside Christmas trees, that doesn't happen here. My family would just stare and we would all shriek out "oh my god! look! kosher McDonald's!!! Wow!"
Here people stare at Orthodox families and make fun of the "funny little hats", and the kosher food you get is the one you cook or buy from other jewish friends. I'm just not used to it, it doesn't mean I question people's knowledge. And besides, I grew up hearing yiddish from my grandparents, so it's always cute but weird reading the same expressions from others.

I cooked my first turkey today. It was awesome. We had Marcia's mother and brother over for Thanksgiving, and my culinary skills were front and center.

I say Oy Vey all the time. Having said that I've often questioned if my mother is part Jewish. She does all the things one associates with Jewish mothers, like emotional blackmail, answering questions with questions and being immensely tightfisted. I'm allowed to say that as one of my best friends is Jewish and even he says they're all tighter than a virgin's cunt.

"oy vey mir" (or whatever the spelling Yiddish has in English) translates literally to Spanish as in "ay, mis huevos". Huevos = eggs, but we use it with the same connotation as "balls". So literally you are saying "oh, my balls!". Which yes, is an expression of surprise, disappointment, frustration, disgust, etc. Jewish mothers are a pain, not even Jesus was spared. His mother probably found something wrong even with him too, no one's safe from the idishe mame. We once went out on a double date to this amazing market/fair (where a buddy met and later bought my godchild, Kaa) and came across a volume titled "The Jewish Woman". My best friend threw it to my (then) date and said "here, you'll need it". ![]()

I FOUND A SNAKE IN MY BACK YARD!!! A SNAKE!!!
My mother thought it was a worm, so she shouted up the stairs to my bf to come and kill it ![]() When we got there I said "er, mom? That's not a worm." It's called a blind snake, it's got no eyes 'cause it's subterranean, apparently. It's still very cute, and I was shouted at for touching it, called insane for wanting to keep it...I absolutely refused to let it go, let alone kill it! we ended up taking a cab to another friend's house to see if he could take care of it (he has a snake of his own) and he had no problem. I understand I'll have to free it some time or another, but I won't do it until I go to the country. I want it to be safe and wild, not run over by a car. And Monday's my last day of school!

school's over. I am now unofficially out of highschool.
Once they give me the silly piece of paper that says "welcome to pre-universitary" it will be official. But who gives a shit, it's over!

new comp, up and running.
![]() waiting for Apple to be programed in it, so i can get my scripts i've been trying to write and never finished. I havent sat at my comp desk in 2 and a half years. feels weird having all these Nat photo i printed out 3-5 years ago, on my wall...kinda feel paranoid. My Audrey and Nat movies caused me to run out of movie space on my desk, so now my DVDs have graduated to my book shelf. i should probably photoshop a Keira movie in there, but i dont have PhotoShop on my comp yet.... well SW Ep. I is behind my mirror, so thats good enough... that is liek my only Keria Movie, now that i think of it. :edit: My poor monkey looks like its getting tortured with and inquisition device. lmao

Wait a second...we've graduated up to calling him bf now? That's quite a step for someone who said the word made her uncomfortable. Any day now you'll be lengthening that out (no puns please!)

I knew you'd be the one to say something. Your brain is incapable of a non-smutty thought.
