I beg to differ - I am sure that you are correct that there is no universal "British accent". What most people here are referring to is the fact that even if you are not a native speaker it is quite easy to hear that Keira is not from the USA. northern ireland is part of britian its the same as united kingdon thats why people say "britian" or the "U.K" if your born in nortern ireland your british to, it's called 'United Kingdon of Great Britian'

but yes everone has different accents keira has a london (i think) accent even in england people sound different in different parts of the country english accent does alway mean posh royal type accent which people think

Err, I'm afraid your wrong.

It's correctly called the "United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland" Great Britain is an island, only incorporation England, Scotland and Wales, as hazzle correctly said. It does not include the Isle of Man, Isle of Wight, Ireland etc.

However, anyone within the UK can be correctly called "British" but not necessarily in "Great Britain".
