What alot of moolah!!
Pirates has done it.
Officially the third highest grossing film EVER, having broken the $1 billion mark. The box office currently sits at an estimated $1,002,597,000.

The second movie will be hurting the thirds sales for sure. I was a major fan of the first movie but I really didn't enjoy this one too much. I'm in no hurry for the third to come out.

I don't really understand how POTC II has managed to make such a load of money in the first place. I suppose the first film was great enough for everyone to be interested in a second one, but like Pearl said, this movie won't do the same for Worlds End.

It actually was a pretty good movie.
I think the thing that leaves a bad taste in everyones mouth is the serial type ending... to be continued...same bat time same bat channel... (Or dont any of you remember the old batman TV series in the US?) Anyway , I think its this lack of closure to the second film that causes many people to feel like they got a bit short changed. Im sure Disney did it thinking that the 3rd movie will be close on DMC's heals this spring, but I think it was a mistake, and one I hope they learned from. Oh, and lets hope they utilize Keira more in the 3rd film... |

i didn't think it was worth any more the 1 viewing on the big screen.
the first one, however, i saw 6 times. owing to the fact that no big groups of my friends could see it at the same time... so i volunteered to see it with each of them =D

Somehow I never saw the first one in theaters, though I remember being invited to go see it. Dunno why I didn't.
