Big gigs, low low prices
Not a particularly great thread title, but whatever.
Girl sitting next to me in my office at the moment went to both Rolling stones gigs in Twickenham, one on Sunday, the other yesterday (tuesday). For the first one she paid 60, which is a bargain considering the original sale price, I think she got it through a friend who works for the stadium, and the second one for FREE!!! She was planning to go buy one from a tout near or past the start of the gig so it would be relatively affordable (30-40 quid maybe) and she was haggling with the touts. Until some woman comes up to her and says 'Are you looking for a ticket, I have complimentary ones which I can't seem to get rid of' She got given 4 free complimentary tickets for her and her 3 friends. I've been in shock for the past 2 hours, and will be for the next 6. Goes to show that these things can happen if you put yourself out there. I'm definitely going to go to more gigs and go ticket hunting.

Is this thread about big gigs you are going to and have been too recently. or just a discussion of your experience.
If its the first, then i went and saw Muse for the third time at the beginning of the month and im driving 7 hours to buffalo, NY for a New England Patriots vs. buffalo bills american football game. 15 rows off the field roxor!! Pats tix are $90 and i got these tix for $55 each by joining the bills fan club and buying them presale. . . will be interesting to be the only pats fan in an entire bills section... If it the later then i wish i was her. roxor!!

I'll make it a combination of the two.
Fan clubs are useful afterall! Does it cost you money to be in the Fan Club?

nope, well no monetary cost. I just have to endure "the daily bills buzz" in my email everyday. I could block the email adress that sends it, but im paranoid

When I was at Alabama, we would get discounted student tickets to see bands on campus. Saw the Allman Brothers for about $10.00. Saw Blues Traveler and Dave Matthews at various venues around Tuscaloosa for as little as a $3.00 cover. Those were the days.
Shit. Now it costs more to go see a movie.

Not been to see a gig in months (not since Funeral for a Friend back in June), largely as I've been spending my money on football instead. In fact apparently I missed the Eagles of Death Metal playing the Electric Ballroom on Wednesday because I went to see Arsenal beat Croatia Zagreb. Excellent seats, corner, upper tier, great view and the stadium is gorgeous at night. Shame the atmosphere was so quiet and tame, the away fans were louder than we were! Shameful really. I did my best, but cunts around me weren't singing. Bitches.
Also going to partake of Brazil v Argentina on the 3rd of next month. Seats are 4 rows further back for that but I'm not going to be on a corner behind the goal, but side-on. Best view really. Should be a cracking match and a relaxing no-pressure afternoon. |

I saw Latterman for $7. Some people might not consider them a big show, but fuck did we break firecode! A few people had to hide in the basement while the cops did their lameass stuff.
