I say Leonie has a point. I mean, if you are so compelled to write Ms. Knightley a letter, then she must be important, at least to you, the letter writer. And with you writing that letter, times about a couple hundred to thousand a day, what makes you so special that you deserve, nay, demand a reply? You like her because of her acting, acting takes time. Demanding a reply would take time away from her acting. Her acting would then be less and less available to the public (at least the new stuff, can always get DVDs, right?). So you wanting a reply is normal. I wanted a reply to my letter. Never got one, oh well. Demanding a reply is just selfish.

Well what do you know, put a bit of creativity in your letter and you might just get something back.

A little logistics cleverness goes a long way too - you're much more likely to get something back if you send it during a period you know she's not spending filming on the other side of the world.

I got back three signatures inscribed to me back in the day, but that was 2003 or something, and the girl's a lot busier these days.

As for whether it'll get to her - that's only a few weeks ago, I'm sure they'll pass it on. Whether you'll receive a reply is still a gamble, but having sent it to the old address shouldn't be too much of an obstacle.
