I'd agree that Evanescence is over-rated, but on the other-hand Amy Lee is not. I'm sorry but that woman's got vocals that will slam anyone on American Idol. She impresses me a lot. Of course, if you listen to her non-stop eventually your head will bust wide open, but that's not the point.

Just for those who didn't understand, Shannon Noll was the runner up in Australian Idol, while Guy Sebastian was the Australian Idol. Guy's gone down, hasn't released a song, while Noll is still going strong.

It's interesting seeing the Beastie Boys on your list. Not because I think they are over/under-rated, but because I was in high school when they hit with Licensed to Ill, and my best friend called it "silly white boy rap". He's black, and was into all of the Wrecks in Effect and the other R&B/Rap crossover BS of the time.
The Beastie Boys go on to drop Paul's Boutique, which gets listed on VH1's top 100 albums ever. Wrecks in Effect winds up on VH1's 50 worst songs.
I never got to see Nirvana live, but a couple of friends of mine who played in bands did, and they said they were awful live. I'm of the opinion that any band that can't pass muster live, is overrated.
A lot of old school rap artists are underrated, in my opinion, because of the influx of "gangsta rap". They rapped about killing lyrically...so they are perceived as soft as compared to the current crop.

Tupac Shakur...overrated.

Jamelia is underrated. Poor chicken.

50 Cent, is SO overrated.

At the Drive-in is the greatest band of all time and nothing else matters. If you think you have found a better band then smack yourself for lying. O yeah, they are INSANELY Under-rated.

The Vines are under-rated. And whatever happened to Wheezer?
Over-rated: Norah Jones. Her music is fine, but I do think she is over-rated.
I don't think Radiohead and the Bestie Boys are under-rated either.
I've never heard of At the Drive-in.

Weezer is working on album 5 right now. Not sure on date of release. But Blue/pinkerton are the only good cds they have my favorite of all time actually.


At the drive-in is spectacular and Jacoby is being forced to listen right as we speak.

U2 under-rated????Last time I checked they were playing superbowl half time shows and the NBA finals. I'd hate to see what they would be doing if they were over-rated.

U2 deserves everything they have.

It depends what crowd you're in. I currently know of only 2 people besides myself who like Radiohead or even know it exists in my year level of 230 children. Same for Muse, if I didn't hear it from you kkw people, I wouldn't of heard of it much.

I can't believe people think that The Vines are underrated. They are the WORST Australian band, ever! Plus the behaviour of Craig Nicholls (lead singer) is so stereotypical and boring that it makes the whole point of being a "rock star" even more crass than it normally is.

That is impossible. N.E.R.D. maybe overrated in Europe, but in America, no one even knows who the hell they are. Everyone with half a brain knows Pharrell because of all his collaborations with the big names (Jay-Z, Snoop). A moderate amount of people know Chad Hugo from his work with Pharrell in the Neptunes.

Although those two are popular, the third guy is not. I have one of the CDs and I don't even know his name. They really don't get much coverage here on the radio in America. None of the songs from their self-titled CD made the radio here in Houston.

Thank you! I'd take the Hives over the Vines anyday. And I'm not that big of a Hives fan. Craig Nicholls is really annoying though.

Michael Jackson has the best selling album OF ALL-TIME with Thriller (I believe it just passed 50 million). That thing is the reason MJ can lock himself in his creepy mansion with thousands of kids. Anything he did when he was still a black male (instead of white female) was quality stuff. At this point, he is no longer a musician, he is just a creepy guy that you hide your children from. Now, about Dr. Dre, he has put together some of the most famous rappers ever. Not only did he start NWA, the quintessential early rap group (besides Run DMC), he also started up west coast talent such as Ice Cube, Mac 10, Easy E (R.I.P.), and Snoop (who is overrated). Eminem, 50 Cent, G-Unit, Obie Trice, and Bone Thugs all owe their existence to Dr. Dre. There is no possible way this man is overrated. If anything he is underrated, because I'm sure most are hearing all of this for the first time.

The one rap mogul that is overrated is P. Diddy. He is riding the success of the Notorious BIG for all it is worth. He has yet to come up with an original beat for any of his songs. He doesn't really run the city.

I don't think Maroon 5 is overrated...This Love is really annoying now, but I saw them in concert before they got really famous, and theyre actually pretty good.
