Intriguing.
I especially like the black and white of the chair. The first one needs a bit more light in the dark area, because it just kind of registers as dead. I'd like a little more detail there. The stuff in the cathedral is very good. I'd love to see them in black and white...but then, I just love black and white, like a fat kid love cake.

Some zoo pics, and one from a trip to the Isle of Wight:

Kookaburra!
I like the Isle of Wight one, it's very atmospheric. |

The lighting in the first two panoramic shots is really well-done, especially the first one. Compare that one the last image and you'll see it's much more alive.
All of them look pretty awesome, though. Where in Scotland did you go? Last edited by Leonie; 28-03-2008 at 06:13 PM. Reason: be better if I could type |

Can you upload the full resolution of the landscape ones somewhere?
Want to download.

What Leonie said.
I can tell the cloud cover is thicker in the later shots. Open up a stop on those and they'd be fantastic as well. Oh, and a little fill flash on the horned beast would have opened up the shadows in his face. I used to shoot weddings...I fill flash. There is something about the second shot in the second group that makes up for the exposure though, and I think it's the composition. I think it's the smaller surface area of the water in the frame and the way it winds through it that makes that a more successful shot. Good work...as always...you have a nice eye.

The fill flash using the popup flash ain't so good, so I would have to get a external flash unit before I properly investigate that.
The 2nd one of the 2nd batch is one of my favourites because it looks and feels so atmospheric, and it captures the feel of how it looked when I took the photo. The actual quality of the pictures are not as good as it could be, because the majority are through the window of the coach. The window of the coach was layered and treated, so I couldn't use a polariser to get rid of reflections on the glass and resolution reductions due to dirty windows. Anyways, here are some more:

...and a couple more. I'm going to do a couple of black and whites just for Hasslebrad.

I really like the last two. The first one for the composition and the second one for reasons made obvious by the caption.

Loving the black and white. The first one has as much of an Ansel Adams feel as you can get without an 8x10" negative and adjustable standards. The street's good because of the texture. I don't mind the buildings going black because of the tonality of the bricks.
