I mean "popular" star needing to be in a film for box office ratings works sometimes (Tristan+Isolde and the Jacket )but Why *lohan,why god, why!? I quoteth from lazydork that why do we have british girls play americans then send over americans to butcher English accents (refering to little jewish girl Natalie Portman). I miss the Love Actually days

From today's Variety:

Lindsay Lohan is joining Keira Knightley in the "The Best Time of Our Lives," which John Maybury is in negotiations to direct for U.K.-based Sarah Radclyffe Prods. Lensing is skedded to begin in April.

Script by Knightley's mother, playwright Sharman Macdonald, is based on the true story of the relationships among Welsh poet Dylan Thomas, his wife Caitlin (Lohan), his childhood friend Vera Phillips (Knightley) and her eventual husband, William Killick. It centers on the curious incident in which Phillips and Killick opened fire on the Thomas home with a machine gun and a hand grenade.
Rebekah Gilbertson, who is producing with Radclyffe, originated the project.
Gilbertson is the granddaughter of Phillips and Killick. Radclyffe co-founded Working Title with Tim Bevan in 1984 but left the company after Polygram took it over.
Lohan next stars in the Weinstein Co.'s "Bobby," to be distribbed by MGM, followed by Warner Bros.' "Georgia Rule." Maybury directed Knightley in Warner Independent Pictures' "The Jacket."

What will be the third strike? Wilmer Valmerana as Dylan Thomas, perhaps? Personally, I'm hoping they'll cast Paris Hilton in drag to play Thomas.

Either way, I'll be skipping this one. As a matter of principle, I don't watch any movie with Lindsay Lohan.

Lohan has dropped out of this film, right before they were to start filming. What a SHOCKER! (snicker)

Well, I doubt this movie will even be made now. Sucks for Keira, but she should have known not to count on anything from the always unprofessional and unreliable Lindsay Lohan.

Pretty big role as far as I understand it. The film is about the poet and his wife. Keira plays his childhood friend who is rumoured to have had an affair with him.

Because I just saw ITV Wales filming footage on youtube, and the woman goes shes playing Caitlin, while Keiraweb says she is playing Vera. I'm confused, someone clear this up. It dont really matter, but I just wanna know, y'know.

She's playing Vera, the childhood friend. Sienna is playing Caitlin, Dylan's wife. The story focuses on the supposed relationship between Dylan and Vera, and as such, Keira's role should be rather substantial. Hope that helps
