Princess of Thieves....
What is the deal with this movie?
It's one of the more mysterious entries in Keira's filmography. I just received it the other day from Amazon, and I'm wondering -- where did it come from? Was this movie ever in theaters, or was it, like, a made-for-the-Disney Channel deal? How did she become involved in it? By the way, it's not really my type of movie, but it IS fun to see Miss Knightley in what I suppose was her first leading role in anything. |

It was made for ABC's 'Wonderful World of Disney' series, so it was never released in theatres. It was filmed in Romania from September 25th to early November 2000, when Keira was 15, almost immediately after filming The Hole.
She got the part because she'd auditioned for a role in an earlier movie by the director Peter Hewitt when she was 13, so she was top of his list for this one. Her very first role aged 7, Royal Celebration, was alongside Peter Hewitt when he was an actor before he turned to directing. Most people my age in the UK will remember him as Joey Boswell in the sitcom Bread. His biggest hit so far as a director is Garfield. It was a good role for Keira, certainly something to be proud of when she looks back on her career - her first lead role, as you say, if only in terms of the title. Paul

It's a happy family movie and Keira has nothing to be ashamed of. She was really good in the film, and remember she was only 15 playing an 18 year old. She got to be the lead in the movie, travel and have lots of fun making it, and It turned out alright.

I saw this one on the Disney Channel so many times it's not funny. But I do like it. So it's not that mysterious to me. I think it's a cool movie. I wouldn't buy it for some reason. But I do think it was good.

Hey, if anyone wants to tell me how to get this movie, I'd appreciate it. I've been looking in Walmart and Borders and stuff, no go!
Also, I know Keira is like Robin Hood's daughter in this, but what all goes on in the film? It's pretty exciting that she did a Wondreful World of Disney movie, huh? Thanks!

A Yank. Yes.
Thanks for the links.... I suppose I'll have to order online. I hate it though. I've had stuff lost that way. Fortunatley, it wasn't any Keira stuff that got lost.

Brilliance. I love Circuit City. Anyone got successes from Best Buy?
Thanks! Also, If anyone can explain some of the elements to me. about the movie, I mean. I know she's Robin Hood's daughter, but what exactly does she DO in the movie? She cuts her hair. What else? Thanks!

Amazon have a policy of sending you replacements if things get lost, no questions asked. Unless they find one customer saying things are getting lost ALL the time, in which case they might investigate.
A friend of mine got the wrong DVDs. They said keep them, and sent out the right ones too. It's all part of their business model. They like people to trust the internet. |
