is keira a role model to girls?

hi, im a media studies student looking at lindsay lohan and keira knightley for a project and my title ^^ is what i want to find out from you. for girls: do u think keira is shown in a gd way thru the media and do u think she has a gd reputation? for boys: how attractive do u find keira and is she prettier than lindsay? please reply my exam for this is next monday and i need as many responses as possible. thank u sooooooo much xxx

As a parent of an eight year old girl, I would much rather my daughter have Keira as a role model than Lindsey Lohan.
That said, I find Keira to be immensely more attractive than Lohan. Keira has a face that ranks with the all-time beauties, while Lohan appears on a website called "dumpstersluts", looking like a forty something battling a coke addiction.

Well, I used to think that Lindsay Lohan was attractive. Then came reports of partying with Colin Farrell (he's a good guy, but the age difference is a bit too peculiar) and other men 20 years her elder, anorexia rumors, bulimia rumors, weight loss that reduced her breast size (sigh...), dying her natural red hair (which I considered rather endearing, considering no one else her age had it) to an all-too-common blonde (which EVERYONE her age has), and releasing songs that have little or no artistic content.

I would very much consider Keira to be a better role model than Lindsay. For one, Keira doesn't necessarily bask in the spotlight, where Lindsay is the dog in heat to the chair leg of limelight. Second, Keira seems to handle herself much better whenever she is in the news or media, whereas Lindsay must tackle problems such as her father's criminal record (which she does on her new CD), eating disorders, her ongoing feud with Hilary Duff (which I don't understand to begin with... it's Aaron Carter, for God's sake!), and any other incredible news that can only spew forth from the presence of teenage celebrity. (At least I enjoyed the dancing on 'Mean Girls'... she and Rachel McAdams in skimpy Santa outfits... that's definitely role model material :P) Not that Keira wouldn't have any of those problems, but she certainly does her best to hide them (which is key), and what's more - Keira attempts to expand her genre of acting, pursuing romantic comedies, action/adventures, and dramas (indeed, Keira is widely considered for a nod as Best Actress for 'Pride & Prejudice'. Lohan pursues teen/youth comedies and her singing career. And I think she may have won an MTV Movie Award.)

As for the idea of actresses as role models, it's inevitable. Of course, I'd rather have the youth of America look up to educators, scientists, and writers, but we do live in a vapid, materialistic world (more's the pity).

Who would I say is prettier? That's hard to say, though I suppose I'd choose Keira.

Keira is (in my opinion) the more attractive one by a long shot, both in terms of appearance and personality.

I think that she is a role model for girls. In a world like today Keira is a good role model. Keira seems to be a good person and there are many celebrities that can not even compare to Keira in the role model sense as well as in acting abilities, like Lindsay Lohan. Although Keira is quite thin she is not like others who go from being average weight to being anorexic thin.

Keira's a better role model, only because in my mind, she doesn't represent the regular teenaged girl who's all about Poppy Dance music and Shopping. That and the admission Lindsay's bulemic, though if you had Disney needing to edit your breasts, maybe that's the length you'd go to.

I'd say Keira Knightley is definately a better role model. she's very pretty and she knows it. Very mature about everything, down to earth and all. worked her butt off when she was little to get an agent. Her movies aren't stupid, she works hard at what she does and loves it. Plus she seems like a very nice person.

Lindsay covers up her body with a shitload of make up, she's too much of a partygirl really. i have a friend who used to be family friends with lindsay said she changed completely after that Clueless movie took off. so she's too into Hollywood and cliquey

Since this is a Keira Knightley fan forum, I guess this all sounds biased. But yes, Keira is a better role model, you don't see her on the cover of People magazine for doing drugs, but Lindsay has been. Also, Keira donates to charity and seems to me a down- to - earth person. I think Kiera is a much prettier person.

I'd say Keira Knightley as she hasn't sin't constantly showing off in the media, wearing diamond rings so it looks as if she may be engaged and she isn't in magazines and on the internet i picture where she is drunk and passed out in cars. She also isn't in rehab for drug abuse. If she does get drunk, which as a teenager myself I'd say she probably does, she hides it from the public well, so she isn't a bad influence or known as an untrustworthy employee like Lindsay now is. I used to think Lindsay was pretty, but now I like don't she dyes her hair colors that don't match her complexion and mix badly with her natural hair color, which left alone is a nice color. She is also always painted orange with bad fake tan. Keira is definately better looking, she has a gorgeous face and an "old hollywood" style and air about her. As a teenager I must say I use celebs for influence on hair styles and fashion, but not on how to behave, lol. I luv to party myself, but that has nothing to do with either of these two celebs.

I can say that I find Keira very attractive. I can't though pinpoint what exactly it is that makes her attractive... or... actually I can... I love her eyes, I just love 'em. Her lips are full and beautiful, her nose completes the facial features (her sideview is absolutely fascinating, I got one photo and totally love it). I like her eyebrows too. I am not too into those narrow eyebrows that some people want to achieve by 'trimming' them very much (also Jennifer Connelly's dark eyebrows are totally cute, it gives something extra to her dark and a bit mysterious gaze). Keira's figure is topnotch. I think it is well proportioned. Usually men think that the bigger breasts the better (according to the fact that breast augmentation is one of the most regular plastic surgery operation) but I like how she looks. Plus Keira has those killer-abs. Abs of steel!

What comes to comparing her to Lindsay Lohan... Well, I find KK more attractive, even though that doesn't mean LL is unattractive. I just find more appealing qualities in KK than in LL. I guess there is something so typically american-ish in LL, the american girl so to speak, or something. I was drawn to LL when I saw Freaky Friday but it was pretty much over when the movie ended. She was pretty but not really my taste, I guess.

Keira Knightley is much more attractive. It's the eyes, lips, hair, figure (and who cares about the small breasts. I think that she shouldn't worry about them, plus boob jobs are pointless unless you want them. It's everything about her. She also doesn't run around on cocaine, bash the US, make sex tapes, etc............

Lohan is not ugly (trust me, I know ugly, meet my stepmother) and has talent, but she is killing herself. She is not a role model.

Why is everyone obsessed with role models? Growing up, I didn't have to watch TV or Movies to get role models....I just looked up to my parents. I should hope that rather than look to some star they know nothing about, kids would decide to emulate their parents (assuming their parents are good role models of course). If I had a daughter who looked up to Keira Knightley, I wouldn't have an issue with it....I mean, Keira isn't in jail like some other celebrities. In any case, people need to start parenting and stop letting Hollywood do it for them...no wonder I meet so many morons on a daily basis.

I'm still trying to figure this out, how can a face be a role mode? Of course she is beautiful and talanted actress, but most of us (if not all) have no idea whats her nature. If i was a girl i will never look for a role model, being uniqe is far more better than trying to be someone else. As for Lindsay Lohan its the same, but i like Keira more
