And yes, Kanye IS a genius. Jay-Z isn't sooo bad either. I mean back in the day, I loved Big Pimpin'. THIS HAS NOTHING TO DO WITH MOVIES. GAH.

Snakes on a fucking plane. Goddamn gold. It truly was all in the name, there was nothing else going on, just some goddamn snakes on a plane. It was so funny and ridiculous. There was pretty much a soft core porn scene for 4 or 5 minutes. Pretty much, people were getting bite in places you wouldn't expect to people to get bite. There was so much dramatic irony, it was so much fun.

TI is only good at making music, can't rap. Kanye is good, but there are a lot of other great rappers out right now.

Yes....
I knew Samuel L. Jackson wouldn't let us down!

And on to other movies:

The Godfather....

Haven't seen it since I was about ten years old, and it was even better this time around. I mean, what can you say? It's The GODFATHER -- one of the best movies ever made. Great story, great acting...great severed horse heads. Hey now. And it doesn't seem like it's as long as it really is.

5 out of 5.

I saw Accepted and Platoon. Accepted ended up being a lot better than I thought it would be but the end was kind of corny. Platoon was good, like always.

Ow. Why would you do that to yourself? Awful films.

And will people please post proper posts like, and I can't believe I'm saying this, Dumbass? He goes into some detail about each film.

Don't just reel off a list of movies, that's dull. Say something damnit!

Aww, shucks....
And I'm glad to see that someone agrees with me on the LOTR movies. I just don't see what's so amazing about them. Of course they're well made, but they just never grabbed me.

A History Of Violence: I thought it was very good with an intriguing story. The violence in the film is something that can be appreciated, because it seemed simple-crafted and very well done. No explosions or difficult to follow camera tricks. The director told a simple story in a very simple way. Although I don't know why William Hurt was nominated for his performance, because he didn't impress me nearly as much as Viggo's character. The best scene in the entire movie was when that prick Bobby nearly collided his car with the two criminals in the pick-up. The reaction from the criminals was priceless, as was Bobby's. I just loved that scene.

The High And The Mighty: A decent and early disaster movie starring John Wayne (Co-pilot) and Robert Stack (Pilot). A commercial airliner developes engine problems and it's up to both stars to land the plane safely. It's pretty lengthy, but that's because the director really focuses on the passengers problems and emotions.

Judgment At Nuremberg: Oh boy, oh boy, where do I start? You want brilliant actors, you've got brilliant actors. The dialogue in this movie is brilliantly written and the acting is phenomenal by everyone in the cast. Spencer Tracy is great as always, with the best performance I've seen from Burt Lancaster and Judy Garland (the latter of her later years). I also enjoyed Montgomery Clift's bit part and Maximilian Schell, who is the real star of this movie, took home an Oscar for his performance. And he deserves it, too. Stanley Kramer directed, and I do believe this is his finest work. Amongst On The Beach and Guess Who's Coming To Dinner. It's a courtroom drama involving Nazi sterilization. It's over three hours long, but completely worth every minute. In fact, I want to watch it again just in case I missed anything.

Visually impressive (thanks to a massive budget) but little else. Editing is poor too, each film is far too long, and yet contains numerous unnecessary scenes at the expense of several necessary ones, without which the plot seems entirely different to that contained in the books. Never seen such a waste of a talented cast either.

Saw Nacho Libre today rather than Snakes on a Plane (shocking, I know). It was good, though not as good as School of Rock or other Jack Black films. Was a slow-burner, took a while to get going, but got hilarious towards the end, but certainly would've rather seen School of Rock again than watch it. However definitely worth watching, if for no other reason than the exceptionally hot nun (Ana de la Reguera). If you like your wrestling, especially lucho libre, you'll enjoy it, and if you like Jack Black, but certainly not his best film and Tallegada Nights (the trailer played before Nacho) looks funnier, much much funnier. In fact that looks excellent and I normally hate Will Ferrell.

I believe so, yes.

Over the past few days I saw several films starring Carole Lombard. Mr. And Mrs. Smith, The Gay Bride, Swing High, Swing Low, and Hands Across The Table. All were good -- the first and latter the best. If you have no idea who Carole Lombard is, SHAME ON YOU! You should. You'll soon realize why she's become legendary. Adorable, charming, and with a face of an angel. One of my personal favorite comedienne's -- next to Lucille Ball.

Ah Richard for A History Of Violence that is also my favorite scene. This is also one of the rare occasions when the movie is better than the book.

That's what the cover (kind of) looks like.

Good, it's now on my NetFlix list....

ANYWAYS....

Silent Hill....

Overall, pretty crappy...and this is coming from a HUGE fan of the games. I have to say that the Silent Hill movie has some BEAUTIFUL visuals, and actually captures the mood of the game remarkably well at certain points; however, at the end of the day, it's a fundamentally lackluster movie that can't stand on its own. The story is poorly written, the acting is lousy, and it gets downright boring at some points. It's interesting because the filmmakers obviously made a very conscious effort to follow the game as closely as possible FOR THE MOST PART, but at the same time, they added some key changes for no apparent reason. For instance, there's a subplot in the movie about a guy trying to unravel the mysteries of the town of Silent Hill, which MIGHT have made sense, in terms of helping explain the story, but in the end, he gets nowhere, so the whole effort is pointless.

I really wanted to love this movie, but it left me disappointed. I have to give it a little credit, though, for its visual flair, and it's attempt to do the game justice. I was HOPING that, like the Silent Hill video game, it would be an insane piece of art, but it just came up short.

2 out of 5.
