Good Song Lyrics?
Right now I'm listening to the old Weezer cd Pinkerton. Which is my favorite cd of all time so I figured I'd share a song,
"Across the Sea" You are 18 year old girl who live in small city of Japan and you heard me on the radio about one year ago and you're wanting to know all about me and my hobbies my favorite food and my birthday Why are you so far away from me? I need help and you're way across the seaI could never touch you - I think it would be wrong But I've got your letter and you've got my song They don't make stationery like this where I'm from - so fragile, so refined So I sniff and I lick your envelope and fall to little pieces every time I wonder what clothes you wear to school; I wonder how you decorate your room I wonder how you touch yourself and curse myself for being across the sea Why are you so far away from me? I need help and you're way across the seaI could never touch you - I think it would be wrong But I've got your letter and you've got my song At 10 I shaved my head and tried to be a monk I thought the older women would like me if I did You see, ma, I'm a good little boy It's all your fault, momma, it's all your fault goddamn, this business is really lame I gotta live on an island to find the juice So you send me your love from all around the world As if I could live on words and dreams and a million screams oh, how I need a hand in mine to feel. Why are you so far away from me? Why are you so far away from me? I need help and you're way across the seaI could never touch you - I think it would be wrong But I've got your letter and you've got my song But I've got your letter and you've got my song That is one of my favorite songs of all time so I figured what the hell. If you have heard it any thoughts? If not go buy it, this was when Weezer was absolutely amazing. Blue album and Pinkerton two of the best cds of all time. best line in the song "As if I could live on words and dreams and a million screams oh, how I need a hand in mine to feel." Post a song that you love? Last edited by Kyle_West; 04-07-2004 at 05:42 PM. |

I'm listening to "God Hates Us All" by Slayer at the moment. I'm getting wierd looks from the people around me, but they can go and stick their faces in an oil sump.
"Cast Down" Despair, emptiness See the hatred wasted on yourself Face down taste the dust; it's getting harder everyday Just to find a reason not to end it all yourself Suicide on the street Everywhere around you watch it breed It begins to bury you in self-induced rejection So now you're wasted, broken down I see through your ignorance Penetrate the surface of your insecure inside Next fix, shoot it up Looking for the place where god speaks Every time you find him he just stabs you in the back again No one hears you You're society's infection I won't judge you When the blood steals life from you Cast down and thrown away You are the living dead The needle numbs the pain Of all your suffering This is where the world of money changes nothing Just a statistic in the shadows of the real world The system's failing you just the way it failed me Hell is home on the concrete where the city bleeds America - home of the free - land of fucking disenchantment Despair, emptiness Isolation rapes you everyday Face down taste the dust, digging deeper in your grave Haven't found a reason Haven't found a thing to fucking live for Godless he doesn't care How you choose to destroy yourself In a world that feeds on hate You're left here just to waste away In your cardboard prison, asphalt wasteland No one hears you You're society's infection I won't judge you When the blood steals life from you No one sees you You're society's infection I won't judge you When the blood steals life from you Cast down and thrown away You are the living dead The needle numbs the pain Of all your suffering This is where the world of money changes nothing Depressing, but it rocks.

Don't know many Harvey Danger fans...but this is a great song...the lyrics are excellent too...
"Pike St/Park Slope" Drive across the country, tell your story walking. No one’s keeping you captive in the town that let you down (so sorry). Blame it on the television, blame it on the company; Don’t blame it on the fundamental fact that no one owes you something. "I’ve come about my share, i only want what’s fair. Anyone who knows me knows that i’m not greedy. Like everybody else, i wanna pay my dues. (I only want someone to tell me who to make the check out to.) Maybe we could run away and start a little repertory moviehouse or something." she said, "sorry but i think you might be just projecting (but here’s the dough)." Pike street to park slope, Brooklyn. "A community of dabblers who are vain and fond of biting backs ('we hate it when our friends become successful') And a different school whose energies are spent evading income tax... And silicone enhancements by the breastful. Maybe we could run away and start a little repertory moviehouse or something." she said, "sorry but i think you might be just projecting on to me. Why don’t you try LA?" "Well when you like something, it’s an opinion But when i like something, it’s a manifesto." (pomposity is when you always think you’re right arrogance is when you know.) "Maybe we could start a little independent repertory moviehouse or something." she said, "Sorry but I think you might be just protecting your investment or else assigning blame." |

The boy was in the hallway drinking a glass of tea
From the other end of the hallway a rhythm was generating Another boy was sliding up the hallway He merged perfectly with the hallway, He merged perfectly, the mirror in the hallway The boy looked at Johnny, Johnny wanted to run, but the movie kept moving as planned The boy took Johnny, he pushed him against the locker, He drove it in, he drove it home, he drove it deep in Johnny The boy disappeared, Johnny fell on his knees, started crashing his head against the locker, started crashing his head against the locker, started laughing hysterically When suddenly Johnny gets the feeling he's being surrounded by horses, horses, horses, horses coming in in all directions white shining silver studs with their nose in flames, He saw horses, horses, horses, horses, horses, horses, horses, horses. Do you know how to pony like bony maroney Do you know how to twist, well it goes like this, it goes like this Baby mash potato, do the alligator, do the alligator And you twist the twister like your baby sister I want your baby sister, give me your baby sister, dig your baby sister Rise up on her knees, do the sweet pea, do the sweet pee pee, Roll down on her back, got to lose control, got to lose control, Got to lose control and then you take control, Then you're rolled down on your back and you like it like that, Like it like that, like it like that, like it like that, Then you do the watusi, yeah do the watusi Life is filled with holes, Johnny's laying there, his sperm coffin Angel looks down at him and says, “Oh, pretty boy, Can't you show me nothing but surrender ?†Johnny gets up, takes off his leather jacket, Taped to his chest there's the answer, You got pen knives and jack knives and Switchblades preferred, switchblades preferred Then he cries, then he screams, saying Life is full of pain, I'm cruisin' through my brain And I fill my nose with snow and go Rimbaud, Go Rimbaud, go Rimbaud, And go Johnny go, and do the watusi, oh do the watusi There's a little place, a place called space It's a pretty little place, it's across the tracks, Across the tracks and the name of the place is you like it like that, You like it like that, you like it like that, you like it like that, And the name of the band is the Twistelettes, Twistelettes, Twistelettes, Twistelettes, Twistelettes, Twistelettes, Twistelettes, Twistelettes Baby calm down, better calm down, In the night, in the eye of the forest There's a mare black and shining with yellow hair, I put my fingers through her silken hair and found a stair, I didn't waste time, I just walked right up and saw that up there -- there is a sea up there -- there is a sea up there -- there is a sea the sea's the possibility There is no land but the land (up there is just a sea of possibilities) There is no sea but the sea (up there is a wall of possibilities) There is no keeper but the key (up there there are several walls of possibilities) Except for one who seizes possibilities, one who seizes possibilities. (up there) I seize the first possibility, is the sea around me I was standing there with my legs spread like a sailor (in a sea of possibilities) I felt his hand on my knee (on the screen) And I looked at Johnny and handed him a branch of cold flame (in the heart of man) The waves were coming in like Arabian stallions Gradually lapping into sea horses He picked up the blade and he pressed it against his smooth throat (the spoon) And let it deep in (the veins) Dip in to the sea, to the sea of possibilities It started hardening Dip in to the sea, to the sea of possibilities It started hardening in my hand And I felt the arrows of desire I put my hand inside his cranium, oh we had such a brainiac-amour But no more, no more, I gotta move from my mind to the area (go Rimbaud go Rimbaud go Rimbaud) And go Johnny go and do the watusi, Yeah do the watusi, do the watusi ... Shined open coiled snakes white and shiny twirling and encircling Our lives are now entwined, we will fall yes we're together twining Your nerves, your mane of the black shining horse And my fingers all entwined through the air, I could feel it, it was the hair going through my fingers, (I feel it I feel it I feel it I feel it) The hairs were like wires going through my body I I that's how I that's how I I died (at that Tower of Babel they knew what they were after) (they knew what they were after) [Everything on the current] moved up I tried to stop it, but it was too warm, too unbelievably smooth, Like playing in the sea, in the sea of possibility, the possibility Was a blade, a shiny blade, I hold the key to the sea of possibilities There's no land but the land looked at my hands, and there's a red stream that went streaming through the sands like fingers, like arteries, like fingers (how much fits between the eyes of a horse?) He lay, pressing it against his throat (your eyes) He opened his throat (your eyes) His vocal chords started shooting like (of a horse) mad pituitary glands The scream he made (and my heart) was so high (my heart) pitched that nobody heard, No one heard that cry, No one heard (Johnny) the butterfly flapping in his throat, (His fingers) Nobody heard, he was on that bed, it was like a sea of jelly, And so he seized the first (his vocal chords shot up) (possibility) (like mad pituitary glands) It was a black tube, he felt himself disintegrate (there is nothing happening at all) and go inside the black tube, so when he looked out into the steep saw this sweet young thing (Fender one) Humping on the parking meter, leaning on the parking meter In the sheets there was a man dancing around to the simple Rock & roll song -"Land," Patti Smith

Look at my signature. The first part is from The Shins' song 'Pink Bullets'. The second part is from the Death Cab for Cutie song 'Sound of Settling'. I'd post the whole song, but whatever, no one would take the time to read it all.

Keane - Somewhere Only We Know
I walked across an empty land
I knew the pathway like the back of my hand I felt the earth beneath my feet Sat by the river, and it made me complete Oh, simple thing, where have you gone? I'm getting old and I need something to rely on So tell me when you're gonna let me in? I'm getting tired and I need somewhere to begin I came across a fallen tree I felt the branches of it looking at me Is this the place we used to love? Is this the place that I've been dreaming of? Oh, simple thing, where have you gone? I'm getting old and I need something to rely on So tell me when you're gonna let me in? I'm getting tired and I need somewhere to begin And if you have a minute, why don't we go Talk about it, somewhere only we know? This could be the end of everything So why don't we go somewhere only we know? Somewhere only we know Oh, simple thing, where have you gone? I'm getting old and I need something to rely on So tell me when you're gonna let me in? I'm getting tired and I need somewhere to begin And if you have a minute, why don't we go Talk about it, somewhere only we know? This could be the end of everything So why don't we go, so why don't we go This could be the end of everything So why don't we go somewhere only we know? Somewhere only we know

I love that movie
Here's a song I've always really liked. I don't know what it's called but it's by SheDaisy, and it's perfect. Every guy should know this song. I wont be your dirty secret I wont be your cure or pill I wont run to fetch the water; just to tumble down the hill I wont be your friday paycheck I wont be the prize you flaunt And I wont be your Martha Stewert, baby Or your all night restaurant (Chorus) But I will, I will, I will be your everything I will, I will, I will be the whole shebang You know I will, but I wont be your crutch to lean on I wont wear stilleto heels I wont walk a mile in your shoes; Just so I know how it feels I wont be your obligation I wont be your Barbie doll I wont be the portrait of perfection; to adorn your wall (Chorus) I wont be your lifetime girlfriend I wont be just one of the guys I wont be your mama's favorite I refuse to be the last in line (chorus) I will, I will be your everything I will, I will be the whole shebang You know I will... Says it all. |

I'm listening to Radiohead "Like Spinning Plates"
"While you make pretty speeches, I'm being cut to shreds. You feed me to the lions, A delicate balance. And this just feels like Spinning plates I'm living in cloud cockoo Land And this just feels like Spinning plates Our bodies floating down a muddy river" Cheerful isn't it? |

David Gray - This Year's Love
This year's love, it better last
Heaven knows it's high time I've been waiting on my own too long And when you hold me like you do Feels so right, oh now Start to forget how my heart gets torn When that hurt gets thrown Feeling like you can't go on Turning circles and time again Cuts like a knife, oh now If you love me, got to know for sure 'Cause it takes something more this time Than sweet sweet lies, oh now Before I open up my arms and fall Losing all control Every dream inside my soul When you kiss me on that midnight street Sweep me off my feet Singing, "Ain't this life so sweet?" This year's love, it better last (x2) 'Cause who's to worry if our hearts get torn When that hurt gets thrown Don't you know this life goes on? Won't you kiss me on that midnight street Sweep me off my feet Singing, "Ain't this life so sweet?" This year's love, it better last (x6)

There's a little child Running round this house And he never leaves He will never leave And the fog comes up from the sewers And glows in the dark Baby alligators in the sewers grow up fast Grow up fast Anything you want it can be done How did you go bad? Did you go bad? Did you go bad? Somethings will never wash away Did you go bad? Did you go bad? That was radiohead's fog. Live version beats the real one by heaps.

U2 - With Or Without You
See the stone set in your eyes
See the thorn twist in your side I wait for you Sleight of hand and twist of fate On a bed of nails she makes me wait And I wait without you With or without you With or without you Through the storm we reach the shore You give it all but I want more And I'm waiting for you With or without you With or without you I can't live With or without you And you give yourself away And you give yourself away And you give And you give And you give yourself away My hands are tied My body bruised, she got me with Nothing to win and nothing left to lose And you give yourself away And you give yourself away And you give And you give And you give yourself away With or without you With or without you I can't live With or without you With or without you With or without you I can't live With or without you With or without you

One of my favourites: You could be my unintended Choice to live my life extended You could be the one I'll always love You could be the one who listens To my deepest inquisitions You could be the one I'll always love I'll be there as soon as I can But I'm busy mending broken Pieces of the life I had before First there was the one who challenged All my dreams and all my balance She could never be as good as you You could be my unintended Choice to live my life extended You should be the one I'll always love I'll be there as soon as I can But I'm busy mending broken Pieces of the life I had before I'll be there as soon as I can But I'm busy mending broken Pieces of the life I had before Before you

Coldplay - The Scientist
(I noticed I've been posting melancholy lyrics, but they are usually the best ones to use. Unrequited - or just melancholic in general - love is often the greatest Muse.)
Come up to meet you Tell you I'm sorry You don't know how lovely you are I had to find you Tell you I need you Tell you I'll set you apart Tell me your secrets And ask me your questions Oh, let's go back to the start Running in circles Coming up tails Heads on a silence apart (Chorus) Nobody said it was easy It's such a shame for us to part Nobody said it was easy No one ever said it would be this hard Oh, take me back to the start I was just guessing at numbers and figures Pulling your puzzles apart Questions of science, science and progress Do not speak as loud as my heart Then tell me you love me Come back and haunt me Oh, and I rush to the start Running in circles Chasing our tails Coming back as we are (Chorus) Nobody said it was easy It's such a shame for us to part Nobody said it was easy No one ever said it would be so hard I'm going back to the start
