I have just spent the last hour on Skype with flightfreak and deviljet88, and I must say that quite apart from the amusement value of hearing foreign accents, the program is brilliant.

Just wondering how many people would be interested in using it to chat in real time to fellow KKW members. And laugh at accents. Four people can chat at once, or you can use it as a private 'phone' service.

The software is totally free, but if you want to pay for 'credit', you can use it to call foreign landline and mobile phones at a fraction of the cost of regular phones. All you need is a microphone and a decent sort of internet connection. I havent tried it on 56k, and I don't want to, but someone else is welcome to try and report the results.

The program is great, and the costs to phone to mobiles or normal phones are indeed a fraction of the costs of a regular phone call.

I already phoned with meggiehoops (New York) and Liam and jet (Australia)
and the sound quality is really good even with a cheap crap microphone.
skype is from the same developers as kazaa, but it's legal

I've used skype allready months ago, when it was a beta version. The program was great then, and now it will be even better. But I don't think a lot of people will understand what i'm saying, or worse I don't know what to say...

mozilla thunderbird is also a great program from the same people as firefox(thunderbird is e-mail...something like outlook express)
