While reading the celeb news on imdb.com I ran across this little ditty. There was no place to put it, so I thought why not start a "The Jacket" thread.

"Knightley's Nightmare Audition

British actress Keira Knightley had a nightmare experience auditioning for her upcoming movie The Jacket - she had to stop herself from vomiting on director John Maybury. The 19-year-old Pirates Of The Caribbean: The Curse Of The Black Pearl star - who appears as an alcoholic waitress alongside Adrien Brody in the film - was unwell when she arrived for the audition with Maybury. She says, "That was an awful audition process because I was actually filming King Arthur in Ireland when I had to go to London and meet the director for this and I got food-poisoning really, really badly. It was 4.30 in the morning and I wake up and I'm puking and I had to get on a plane and it's just the most awful flight. So I went and met this director, John Maybury, and the whole time I was kind of thinking, 'Okay, don't puke over him, don't puke over him! Please!' And it was a lunch meeting, so they had fish as well, which is never good. So I'm thinking that all the time and then he suddenly turns around to me and says, 'Actually, I don't want you in this film. I think you're completely wrong for the role.' I was thinking, 'My God! And I've tried not to puke over you the entire time!'" Knightley was relieved to later learn her efforts were not in vain - Maybury changed his mind and gave her the role."

Half way interesting story I suppose. If the director would have said no to me while I was trying not to puke I just woulda let go and puked on him then.

Sounds like a good movie though, Adrien Brody is great.

i also saw that on imdb. keira originally said that when she was on David Letterman a few nights ago. for some reason, Letterman seemed more interested in asking her about the jacket than king arthur.

I doubt Letterman saw KA or he cares. I have been a fan of Dave for a decade now. He doesn't know any of the stars. Unlike Leno he doesn't usually get the huge celebrities. He doesn't need them. So when a new person comes on half the time he doesn't know who they are. He didn't know who Ryan Seacrest was. (If thats how you spell his name) But yeah, Letterman finds whatever he can make fun of and runs with it usually. I missed the interview on there so I'm not sure what he did.

it sounds good, it's a science fiction...

Yeah, she does look like she drinks...she has a tired, given-up look to her. But maybe that's just this particular picture.

I'm *so* not excited for this movie. The thought of George Clooney and Soderberg (however you spell it) teaming up [on the creative end] yet again makes me cringe.

Joking aside, you cannot judge whether someone is an alcoholic unless there is solid evidence, besides to me, she just looks tired. Proof such as a picture of yours truly, with a traffic cone on his head, cuddling a bottle of white lightning...

Movie sounds preety good, I'm a sucker for Keira, and Adrian Brody is in it(never seen any of his movies, but I found it funny when he kissed Halle Berry on the oscars 2 yrs. age) I do find his Diet Coke commercial here in the states quite funny

hopefully it will be a good thinking man's film. oh, to put my $5 in, I also read the imdb.com interview/story. quite humerous. oh,and Keira dosen't look like an alcoholic, just tired, w/ a lot of crap on her mind.

Definetly more excited about The Jacket than I am about Pride and Prejudice (bleh). A pyscological thriller sounds pretty cool, and I'm glad to see Keira take on such a diversity of roles.
