I was forced into a PC upgrade by a faulty power rail to the PCI-E slot on my old motherboard. Since my old machine was a socket 939 which has been obsolete for ages, I needed to buy a new motherboard, memory and processor.

Debated for ages about whether or not to get a Q6600 or E6850 but ended up sticking with dual core and going the E6850 - 600Mhz clock for the same price was too much of a difference. Besides, whats the point in having 4 cores if you only ever use two.

So now I have:
ASUS P5K-E Motherboard
2GB Corsair DDR2-800 C4
Intel E6850

Plus my old 8800GTX.

This setup is amazing. Crysis is smooth as silk on high settings. Hallelujah.

The deodorant is solid as a rock, so not sticky. You need to keep it in a container though, so that it doesn't attract all the moisture in your environment. The only thing I find is that I sweat a bit more (i.e. no antioxidants stopping the sweating, which, on some level, sounds healthier), but since I don't smell, it's not actually a problem. And a lot of it is absorbed by the bicarb in there anyway.

From what I gather, the 18-135mm zoom is a quality level above your 18-55?
And 50mm primes are sex, no matter what manufacturer.

I have Pentax manual 50mm lenses, f1.4, f1.7, f2, but I thought I'd go convenient and get an AF one.

...heres a question, I thought D40s didn't take screw driven lenses? How are you getting the lens to work?

You're correct, the D40 won't autofocus without an AF-S lens which is a bit of a pain. I'm not sure about any other makes of camera but the Nikons have a nifty through-the-lens manual focus assist thing that will tell you when you're on the mark in MF. Takes a little practice but I can pretty much nail an f/1.8 manual focus in about 3 seconds now. Clearly I'm not going to be using it for particularly fast-moving anythings but at £40 for a prime I'm not complaining.

Well the lenses are the ones which stand the test of time, if you upgrade your SLR, your lenses will continue to work, and hopefully be able to drive the lens.
Which is why, in specs I like the D80.
The new Canon 450D with the IS kit lens looks quite neat.

Also, something I didn't buy. My gas light came on on the way home from school, so I stopped and got gas. As I filled up my gas tank at $3.79 a gallon, I was thinking, "yay, it's come down a little bit." Get back in my car and drive on..... There is a gas station on the corner right before you turn onto the street I live off of. I happened to notice a huge line coming out of the gas station and saw the reason why: $1.99 a gallon!! Jesus....

its maple tipped with buffalo horn. It is a replica of the cane used by Hugh Laurie in House, MD from the end of season 4--> from the manufacture for the show. I have decided to collect them, since I have been using them for 9-10 months.
