The beginning of the end?

Let's hope so.
Rap appears to have begun to crater. Artists (I use that term loosely) are setting their sights on ringtone sales rather than album sales.
This reminds me of the death of disco. Rock/funk fusion bands that made quality albums gave way to producer driven dance tunes that were nothing more than a single to get people dancing. Pretty soon, there was nothing left but a bunch of one hit wonders, circling the drain.
So...is this the beginning of the end that was predicted in the late 1980s or can the genre survive?

The sooner Rap, Hip-Hop and R&B die the better.

My counter-advice to Snoop is that making a movie is a lot like making a movie. There should be at least one good scene in it.

Touche'.
Snoop's one I've never been particularly enamored with musically anyway, which is sad since I heard Gin & Juice on the way to work and it's now circulating around my head like a turd in a stopped up toilet.
It would make a good ringtone, though.
