It's hard to get things wrong. Have a look at some pre-existing pages to get an idea about the formatting.

also, when you edit a page, there is a link to Help:Editing, with some links to editing resources

You might notice a denser spread of adverts over the next seven days or so - notably a very minor rejig of the gallery layout and the movement of the homepage's left panel to place the ads at the top. Rest assured this isn't a permanent move; they are quite ugly after all - we just want to capitalise on the fucking enormous wedge of bandwidth-moshing users who are starting to arrive in Pirates week. Once it all blows over we'll be back to normal. Cheers.
