Reasons for joining kkw

as I can not remember what spurred me to join kkw. as it was 2004 it may have been pirates but i was not completely moved by her performance it is unlikely.

the purpose of the thread is for some of the older members to share what made them join and why.

I joined because, when flipping channels, I saw a second of Dr Zhivago that made me stop, turn around, and go back to the Belgian channel it was being aired on. I watched the second half of part two and tuned in for part three the next week. Loved it.

I thought Keira was at least 25, and probably the best actress I'd seen of her age. Not to mention the fact she was gorgeous of course.

I googled, found the old keiraknightley.com, which was quite pants, and somehow through more googling ended up at KKW. Good fun. I was terrified to post at first, because I was sure that Barrington's & Liam's wit would make me cry (and because my native language isn't English, and I didn't want to make a fool of myself).

Eased up over the years, and now I'm a KKW veteran.

I watched Pirates and thought she was hot. Then I was sitting in some riddicolous computer class and was nearly bored to death. So I googled Keira Knightley and found KKW. Registered and thought I'd only be on there for that particular class... But I found it fun, and as Leonie and FF I'm now a veteran around here.. (and I spend too much time online, but that's another story)

To be honest, I never liked KK much. I was a horny 17 year old and I had seen pictures of the admin. And thus joined.

Watched Princess of Thieves on afternoon television in Australia during the holidays. Just shows how bored I was, watching afternoon tv and then joining a forum. Hm.

Back in the day, before Pirates of the Carribbean came out (old skool) Duckula and myself found out through his brother that Barrington had a site dedicated to Keira. So we thought it would be hilarious to spam it into the ground. Which we did quite effectively until Ducks was banned. I was spared because I'm actually quite nice.

Keira's importance was minimal, except that she's hot. Got thoroughly addicted to IRC, stayed ever since. Haven't yet been bothered to leave. Met more of the people on KKW face to face than anyone else. I stay for them.

Hopefully I'm veteran enough and know people well enough that if and when I travel anywhere, someone will be kind enough to put up with me.
