Baseball in the year 2005
It's time to get pumped up. Well, these days in a baseball thread "getting pumped up" might not be a good starting phrase. Starting over.
It's time to get really excited. Last year we had a baseball thread and we all made predictions. I made this huge prediction of who would win every division, the wild cards, world series winners. (I picked the Sox bitches) Anyway, this year I didn't have much time to follow any team in the off season except the Sox. I pick the sox again. Curious what other people think about this season Once I get caught up I'll have future predictions. P.S. Welcome back Fancyman. P.P.S Why thank you It's nice to be back. Go Sox |

I love my Texas Rangers, even though they apparently all use steroids and still aren't that good.
I'm also interested in what's going to happen with the new DC Nationals team...it'll be nice not having to go to Baltimore for games...assuming they ever get their stadium built that is. |

American League baseball is a travesty. It is to baseball what ArenaFootball is to real American football.
And now that Barry Bonds is gone and Steve Finley left our division, the Padres have the NL West for the taking.

Yeah that's true we should just get rid of the entire American league. There aren't any good teams in it. You know this past season is a perfect example. The American league was so boring. These old legandary teams like the Red Sox and the Yankees contribute nothing to this great American past time. I'm glad you could use a brilliant analogy to illustrate your point. I couldn't have put it any better. Damn DH.

The American League is just fine, so all of you guys can just shutup! I enjoy watching the Red Sox-Yankees rivalry, even though Yankees win almost all the series. I think it'll be Marlins and Angels in the World Series, with the Marlins winning. The Orioles are overhyped. They spend all of their money on batting, and none on pitching, reminds me of the Rockies.............Is Mauer from the Twins still considered to be a rookie? If he is, he will win AL Rookie Of The Year.

Now, I've said BoSox before... as they are my 1/2 team. But my other half is the Royals. You just have to love those boys in blue when you're in KC. I BELIEVE!

My Angels (aka Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim) are already predicted to win the AL West. We have the best outfield in baseball and it's gonna be a bit easier with Oakland without Mulder and Hudson. Seattle got Beltre but I'm still not sure they'll compete at the same level as the Halos. But beware of those Rangers. Oh those fiesty Rangers.

I agree. I'd be very surprised if the Angels didn't run away with their division. Oakland doesn't have enough offense to make up for their drop in pitching. And overall Seatlle is tiss to weak. I thibk we'll se another great race between the Sox and Yankees. Sox obviously edging it out

Tampa Bay Devil Rays all the way bay-bee!
Oh shit...you mean they've already been eliminated? Oh well. Fearless prediction: The Braves will win the NL East.

The perfect equation! Please, can anything be more overhyped than last year's ALCS? Honestly. Maybe if there were more to the American League than money, it'd be worth keeping.

They may not be a great team... or really a good team yet, but the games are a hell of a lot of fun to go to. |

How can you not hype a comeback like that when you come back from down 4 games against one of the most stacked teams to ever have played the game. What does the national league have over the american league? homerun records by steriod users? Oh and before we go talking about payrolls, yes the red sox and yankees have rediculous payrolls but out of the top 10 payrolls last year 7 were from the national league.

Giants
(That would necessarily imply an immediate hatred for the Dodgers, and an indirect hatred for the A's and the Angels.) Playoff Picture: NL West - Padres NL Central - Cubs NL East - Atlanta NL Wild Card - Giants AL West - Angels AL Central - Tigers AL East - Yankees AL Wild Card - Red Sox I'd probably see Giants/Padres vs. Yankees/Red Sox for the WS. For me, Giants over Yankees.
