Random Arty Gubbins: Liam
Right, last night I decided I would make a much celebrated return to my old sketching days. Since the scanner where I'm staying is arsed, I had to take a picture of the sketch with my digital camera which killed a lot of quality off but theres enough there to give you an idea. The sketch to this point has taken about 45 minutes.
Its still a work in progress - the shading isnt complete, the fuselage cross / identification number and rudder swastika are just outlines at present. Anyway: Bf-109E4/b of Stab/JG26, France, August 1940

From my minimal knowledge of plains, i.e il2, it looks pretty damn strait on, is it supposed to be from another pilots viewpoint, looking out the window, thats what i see it as anyway, and it looks sweet.

That's a pretty damn nice drawing Liam. It looks like it will turn out great when it is totally finished. I like the angle of the plane a lot.

I'm assuming it was taken from the lead Bf-109, yeah...although the formation spacing isnt typical for a German rotte.
Must be a staged shot.

In my opinion , you did well for the "Emil" model of the first world war years,
especially considering the "governail rope" and that hideous little cross at the back Nevertheless, I do not get what the darkened surface on the left of the picture represents... |

I believe the darkened surface on the left( which goes down in a slant) is a view(in the foreground) from another plane( plane window). At least, that's what I think it is.
