Naxy doll, theres a trick called grid, which is actually really cool and simple. You print out a pic on a full (i mean covering the entire thing with no margins) piece of printer paper. take another piece of printer paper. this is the one you will draw on. next, take a ruler and make a grid on each paper. i find it easiest to use the width of the ruler as your size. from there you transfer what is in each little box in the photo into the corosponding blank box. focus on just what is in the box, not the entire pic its self. it really works nicely.

Excellent advice. I used this technique to do a charcoal drawing of the grill of a 1956 Cadillac when I was about her age.
Also, when you sit down to draw, do you sketch lightly or just start drawing? If it's the latter, get yourself a hard (4H or harder) pencil and just lightly sketch out some lines to get the eyes, nose and mouth positioned where they need to be and then gradually darken as you fill in detail.
And, contrary to what KeiraLover says...it does look much better than the first, keep trying and keep posting.

That is an excellent post hasselbrad. It is a good idea to lightly define an area/areas of the face with the pencil( or whatever drawing instrument you are using) before fully committing to a darker, more defined detail and/or contrast. Plus, it is easier to erase and correct mistakes that way.

...you can also use that to enlarge a picture. Make a copy of a pic and use a ruler to draw a grid on it. Then, on a large piece of drawing paper, lightly draw a larger grid. This will allow you to enlarge a picture to virtually any size you want.
