Your Favourite Christmas/Chanukah Song...
So... What's your favourite christmas Song/Chanukah/Winter Holiday Season Song???
I understand Natalie Portman is Jewish and Chanukah begins at Sundown on Dec. 7th (Tuesday - which, incidentally and very appropriately, is also Pearl Harbor Day, for the Americans here on the boards)... and is observed until sunset on the 15th... |

I understand that Mel Gibson is Catholic and Christmas is on the 25th and observed until 11:59pm on the 25th.
My favorite song of the season is Mariah Carey's All I Want For Christmas is You, OR Song for a Winter's Night by Sarah McLaughlan. Becasue Mariah Carey's Christmas song just rocks and makes me want to dance in the mall when I'm shopping. And Song For a Winter's Night is kinda depressing, so I get the best of both worlds. To be honest I'm getting kind of sick of Christmas songs. I never understood why Christmas is so special that we have songs specificaly for this holiday. We don't have Thanksgiving songs or Easter songs so what makes Christmas so special? Beasides those damn carolers are always showing up at the wrong time. You don't pound on someones door to sing to them when the ball game is in the middle of the fourth quarter. So BAH HUM BUG! Good night.

Olivia Olson's version of Mariah Carey's All I Want For Christmas is You only because she's some kid and it was in Love Actually (the concert scene) and was one of the cutest scenes.

I have two:
Vince Guaraldi Trio - Christmas Time Is Here John Lennon - Happy Xmas (War Is Over) And although it's not really considered a Christmas song, Jeff Buckley's "Hallelujah" is too good.
