After Brazil went out, Argentina fans paraded a coffin draped in the Brazil flag through the streets of Cape Town.
In response may I just say...HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA.
We lost narrowly to the fourth ranked team in the world, thanks to defensive errors and probably outplayed them on the balance of play. Netherlands may have deserved to win, because Brazil lost their heads, but it was clearly against the run of play. Meanwhile Argentina got spanked by a side ranked outside the top five (albeit only just outside).
Germany should fancy their chances now. Spain have looked distinctly average and were incredibly lucky to beat Paraguay, who had a goal disallowed when it was clearly not offside. They're also too dependent on David Villa.
FIFA will be happy. Having had South American teams outdo European ones all tournament, three of the four semi-finalists are Europeans. Naturally, despite all continental rivalry, I'll be pulling for Uruguay. Fuck Blatter.
