Avatar- meh. I like what Cameron has done with the technology and the visuals are amazing but it does not work at times. Cameron should have kept everything in deep focus. When it goes out of that type of shot things become out of focus unless they are in the foreground which detracts from the experience. Writing and plot was mediocre and it was hard to care about the characters in the story.

Pontypool- Amazing indie horror gem. It is done in the old style, the horror is never seen but felt for the first half hour. It deprives us of information (which in todays world really frightens people as it is an alien feeling). This movie had me doing something I have not done in a while; discussing a film for more than fifteen minutes after first viewing. Hunt it down wherever you are, buy it, order it, rent it or pirate it. Just see it.
