My final film for my Production I class.
I'm happy with how it came together, but I needed more coverage for a lot of scenes. But, unfortunately, when you only have one day to shoot an entire short, you can expect that problem.
There were a few overexposed shots because the sky was so bright that it washed out the characters. But that only happened when I did low-angle shots where the sky took over much of the frame.
But check it out and tell me what you think!
It looks better on vimeo, I think. Both versions are very compressed files, it looks fantastic when projected. :)
There's no sound, by the way.
Shot on Super 8mm Plus-X film with a Minolta Autopak8 D6 camera.
Will there be some kind of score?
I really like it! You had some pretty decent actors.
There will eventually be a score. My friend, the protagonist in the film, is composing something quick for it. I had to present it to the class yesterday, it was our last day, so unfortunately there was no sound. But only 3 out of 16 people had music in their films so it's no biggie.
And the actors are my friends and my mom. I think they did pretty well for being non-actors, too.
Here's a story for you guys:
There once was a magical land called The KKW. Everyone there sucked, except for Mandy, because she was cool.
Well shot Jake! I like the style and the story. Keep up the good work.
