Arty Competitions
 

What are peoples thoughts on having art competitions in the gallery. Different sections like; video, photography, non photographic image, writing and so on.
Then have voting once a shortlist had been selected.

As an artistically untalented person I shouldn't really comment be I do feel like this is a very good idea. What better way to promote KKW as a grouping of sophisticated intellectuals than to show off our members artistic qualities?

Seems like a cool idea. I suck at anything to do with artistics.

Whatever happened to this? There seems to be quite a lot of photoshopping and picture taking going around this board - a contest of sorts might be fun. (Do I get the 'biggest bump' award?)

I think it's an excellent idea, I'm always photoshoppin'.

With the pictures, we could pick like... a monthly topic, then get that shortlist out of the entries, and vote. Same goes for the photoshopping really.

Yeah, but depends on how many people would do it. So far it'd be me against you each time. haha

I think it's a really cool idea. I mean I would give a shot at writing and definitly draw some stuff.

I finally have the ability to scan stuff, so I could be arsed to particpate.

Now all we need is someone to take charge and set a topic :) I'm not going to volunteer as I have nothing but my own personal taste to judge other people's work. We'd need someone to create a shortlist, after which a poll could be made in which people vote for their favourite piece of art.

Would anyone be interested?

Should there be both competitions going at the same time? I dont take a whole lot of pictures, so If I'm participating it's most likely going to be in the photoshop business.

By photoshop to you mean literally to combine and make pictures or just take cool photos? I just sort of take arty light pictures.

Photoshopping as in like as in doing cool things in photoshop with set topics like "Turn Keira into a superhero," "Turn Keira into someone with breasts"...etc.
