Finally the Tonight Show will stop sucking.

yeah, in 5 years :icon_surp

Oh well, I'll miss staying up late to see it.

Wow. Thanks for getting me excited for nothing. 5 years is a long time. I think they should just do it now. Leno sucks. He has probably the worst writers of any show out right now. Inside the actors studio with James Lipton is more funny than Leno, and not because of the way James Lipton looks.

I don't know who's show I like best. Leno is good at some things and Conan at some. Conan is kinda childish but still verry funny.
I haven't seen them in along time.

I'm content. But it won't happen until 2009, that's a long time.

Only thing the Tonight Show has that's good is Kevin Eubanks(s/p)
He's hysterical, and I love his laugh.

That's the fun thing about Leno show.

My god, I thought that was just me.

Since we're on the subject, Max Weinberg from Conan...effing hilarious.

Max > Kevin...wow. Spire can back me up here...

"They say prostitution is a victim-less crime...well, where's my wallet? You got my wallet, bitch!"

Max does play a mean trap set, same goes for Kevin's axe.

Sorry to be off topic, but did anyone see the conan where, I think he had Dean Cain on, and Conan asked him how long his penis was, and got punched in the face. So Max, being 20 steps away from him, asked the same question, and Dean said "Preety damn long" (or something to that effect).
I never laughed so hard at that show, ever.

Yes, I remember that...let's make this a Conan thread...:

Anyone remember the part where he's watching the musical "Cats" and crying? Haha...I'll post the pic after I copy it from the DVD..

Sounds familiar, but can't remember his facial expression.

Since we're on the subject of funny moments of Conan, none are funnier than "let's have Frankenstein waste a minute of our time."
I was over at a friends house, when Frankenstein went backstage, to a table with a TV, and a box full of Porno tapes. Conan and the audience were laughing, and urging Frankenstein to put a tape in, but instead took out, I think, a shoe from the box! I swore out loud to the TV.

YES! Conan is 1,000,000,000x better than Leno, about freaking time. I can wait 5 years, can't wait for Conan tonight!

I love that part, by the way folks, that quote is followed by the "The More You Know" star and music.

Kevin Eubanks is just a guitarist who laughs at everything Leno says, Max is just hilarious, especially with his paedophile/sex maniac reputation.

I was getting sick of Leno. I like Conan, but I'm more of a Kimmel man...

Kimmel isn't even funny. How that guy has a show is beyond me. Maybe I'm a little bitter he took Bill Maher's spot. No I'm not he just sucks. As far as Conan he is ten times funnier than the boring Leno show. Jon Stewart is the only one comparable.

Letterman > O'Brien > Kilborne > Stewart > Leno

I don't even consider Kimmel a real late-night host. He's terrible; not even a comedian, IMO.

Of course, it would have been perfect (Carson ... Letterman ... O'Brien)if Letterman had gotten the job that was rightfully his back in the day, before the conniving Leno stole it right out from under his nose. Cheesy, unfunny bastard. I'm ready for Conan to take over NOW. I hope Triumph comes with!

Long live the String Dance.

I just hope they don't have to tone down the show for the earlier time slot. I've never seen anything like the Masturbating Bear, or any of Conan's more raunchy skits on Letterman or Leno. Might just be because they're not nearly as funny.

Did you not just read my last post, Spire? That is the OFFICIAL late-night hierarchy! Got it? :p

Anyway, yeah. Conan will most definitely have to tone his show down because it will be on so much earlier. He's constantly making comments in regard to the fact that he's allowed to get away with anything because "no one's watching at 4 am". Yeah, this totally sucks, but this is a great oppurtunity for old Coney. He's finally getting the supreme recognition that he deserves.

I think Conan is new tonight, can't wait to hear what the Cone Zone has to say about his promotion.

I like Kimmel's show because he knows that he really doesn't belong there. His guest hosts are on for the whole week, including 5 year-old Lil' Max-O, the littlest rapper...

The Karl Malone jokes never get old.

Sorry to bump such an old thread but now, since the change is a year or so away, I figured "what the hell?"... it's not like anyone's around to see it anyway.
:D
I'm not too pleased about the switch. I can only take Conan in small doses. His antics get really tiresome. Leno may not be everyone's cup of tea (I was upset when Letterman didn't get the gig) but he's the closest thing to Johnny Carson. Carson was God. He was so subtle, and when a joke bombed, that subtlety usually got an even bigger laugh.
Leno's not on that level, but he does a pretty good imitation.
Conan O'Brien is about as subtle as a six foot tranny in six inch platforms at a Baptist church. I want to hold him down and give him a crew cut.
Besides, isn't he getting beaten in the ratings by Craig Ferguson anyway? He's fucking hilarious.

I'm concerned that Conan won't be allowed to do his brand of humor in a job like Leno's....
And I get the feeling that Leno is being pushed out against his will.

In general, this switch doesn't sit right with me.
