Which beer is the best ever made and why?

If you disagree with someones opinion slate them till they submit. Nothing should come between a man and his beer, unless its a fine woman.

No no...seriously...Guinness...and yes, agree with Frank on the attractive barmaid thing...

Beer tastes like someone took a shit on a piece of bread..threw it in a juicer and added a little bit of vodka. So far, I haven't found a single beer that's tasted 'good'. Some taste better than others, yes...but none that are 'good'. Just have a bottle of vodka..and if you don't like the flavor...plug your nose when you have a swig, ya pussy.

Free beer is the best.
If I'm going to pay for it, I'll take a Guinness or Newcastle. In years gone by, a Samuel Smith's Taddy Porter was a favorite, but that was when I was in college with a credit card whose bill I didn't pay. $5.00 for a bottle of beer wasn't such a luxury.
Molson is good. The only American beer worth a shit is Samuel Adams. I'm speaking of mainstream, go down to your mini-mart "top 40" beers here. I know there are a lot of micro-brews that are fantastic.
Fosters is good. Grolsch is very good, but I was disappointed that they have gone to the plastic "Grolsch Stone" top. Plastic will give you a headache. :icon_surp
Being mildly allergic to beer sort of ruins it for me though. I can only consume in small quantities.

I think we should start a poll on this thread about who is a drinker or not...

I have a feeling this will split the population right down the middle.

Maybe the choices can include the aspiration to drink or something.

I would do it, but I don't know how, and its not my thread...

On second thought, this is just a suggestion. I'm not trying to take the thread off its original topic...

Guys, beer's beer. And you know, all beer is good. There is no this beer is better than that beer. sigh. Why create segregation among beers?! All beers are created equal and equally assist all people in the pursuit of happiness. lol.

On another note, there is a big difference between good hard A and bad hard A. ANd I'm not talking about the mixed variety, I'm talking about drinking it straight up. I prefer whiskey myself, but that's just because I'm a biased amercian...And when buying hard A, never, never, get the cheap stuff. It will do more harm than good. trust me.

Sigh. There are two people in this world. Those who understand, and those who don't. lol. Try not a focus on little insignifcant things like color, brand name, and taste. Instead, try focusing on that thing which matters, namely, the feeling beer gives you. ANd then you'll come to realize that it doesn't matter the color, the brand, or even the taste. You'll begin to see that beer is beer, and all of it's good.

So is a "Black-n-Tan" an abomination &/or abuse of beer? Is it morally & ethically right/wrong? A stout(or other heavy dark) is great! An ale is lovely and pleasent... On their own, each brew stands alone as what it is, and makes the brewer and drinker happy... Should the be mixed? Poor the stount into a mug of ale and it sinks to bottom looks pretty cool, tastes good together, costs more to order at the bar, but is it right? The brewer brewed the ale to be an ale, not to have a stout plopped into it. The brewer of the stout brewed the stout to be srong, thick and firm without question...Now some genius watters it down by dumping it into a mug of ale.
What the hell are they doing? Is it right? What do real beer drinkers think?

FINALLY! Seven, you get it. Beers are made with all different kinds of flavors and tastes and styles. It's a shame many forumgoers don't see this and will probably never appreciate different styles of beer. All beer should be appreciated. And to answer your question, no. Do not mix the drinks lol. The only time it is acceptable to mix beers is when you are intentionally trying to insult the brewers. Beer's an art. Art should be appreciated as is.

I guess another way is to send a letter to the brewers and mention that their drink tastes great mixed. May be they'll try it and start brewin a new flavor of beer.

Guinness in the overall winner in my book. But it's expensive as hell to get in bottles over here plus tap is better, so I have to wait until I'm of age (in 2 short months) and get it from a tap.
For now I go with cheap American made Budweiser... (stop and wait for the Aussies and Brits to get their jabs in on how gross Bud is)....
My first legal beer will be a Guinness, I'd like to try Boddingtons too. There's a Pub downtown that has all the good stuff... hmmm I long for November.

When I was in Ireland there was a cider I think, called Bulmers... anyone know about this stuff? It was good.

First you posted that what brand of beer you drink really doesn't matter, because all beer is good for is getting you fucked up.

As for stuff that's fairly availible in the states, I usually opt for Killians Irish Red. It's not a light beer and it's got some decent flavor to it for something sold in the States. It's also about $7 for a 6 pack, so it's not terrible on the wallet.

He hardly ever drinks American beer, which is probably why I don't care for it too much, myself. I usually prefer darker ale (as I mentioned before) like Guinness and Beamish, but I must say, this Boddington's is damn good. A little on the bitter side, but a fine lager, never-the-less
