View Full Version : I sound like a twat...

acliff

....and look like one too.

However having been told at work, people on the phone, and even some customers that my voice actually sounds better than normal, in my boredom I have decided to make a recording of my cheesegratered (if there is such a word) throat in action.

Well, hope you feel better, mate. Your voice sounds less like Orli, which is always a good thing.

You sound normal to me, it almost makes we wonder...

For a moment there, I was thinking you don't look like you talk - if that makes sense.

Can this be a thread where people host their voice recordings? I kinda enjoyed that.

Don't inflate his ego any more...it doesn't need it...we don't want our Cliffeh's head exploding all over KKW...as if he wasn't arrogant enough as it is.

I'll pick up a mic on my way home from work today. I've been told I have a horrible, monotone voice, but I'm fairly certain my accent hasn't been affected by Texas, but we shall see.

Hm, I think Hazzle's mentioned this before but there's no such thing as a 'british accent'.
Scottish, English, Welsh, Irish and even Northern Irish sound completely different.
I can't imagine anything worse for someone who's just learnt the English language to attempt a conversation with an old Glaswegian man.

Leonie
05-08-2008, 09:06 PM
Why thank you :)

I have been living in England for the last 11 months or so, so that could explain a few things.

My landlady introduced me to a prospective tenant today saying I was "Dutch, but terribly British". I'm not sure if I should be offended by the way she emphasised terribly, but there you go. Given that she is Frau Überracist, I guess I should be passing out with gratitude given that she actually lopped me in with her folk.

Edit: Mandy, I couldn't get yours to work :/ I keep getting the little player and then it won't actually play.

I read the news once dontchaknow? :icon_lol:

The hint of Aussie isn't too surprising - went out there sounding perfectly English, came back after six months sounding like an Aussie, and ever since then it's been the wasteland in between. Catch me on a day of enthusiastic McLeod's Daughters watching and I sound full on Australian :D
