As I watch the England portugal game at work, I wonder that my job isn't as bad as all that. Coupla beers in here atm, got the security guards in here, 4 plasma TVs with football, big surround sound.... shame I have to sell them to stupid people with way too much money.

I am a Sony Centre Salesman.

What do you do?

My work consists of working meaningless shifts at a cash register while trying to wake up. When I'm not helping overly cheerful costumers I pack shelfs with no enthusiasm whatsoever while being paid a lousy minimum wage for walking around in a ridiculous outfit. I need a new job.

I work at the movies which means I stand around watching movies and abusing the "free popcorn and soda" privelage. Since I only get paid $7.50 an hour (and that's with my "chief of staff" title and raise), I also give riding lessons, and work the occasional pony party to pay for things like my horse, the rediculously high gas prices, miscellaneous stuff, and my next trip to Europe.

I walk around my fine and lovely campus pissing people off by giving them parking tickets. Mawhaha! It's a nice job, I work outside so I get a nice tan, I walk and get excersise, and I get paid for being an arse! Besides all the people who yell obscenities it's near perfect.

I work at a casino on an indian reservation. How.

I'm a Total Rewards representative in the Marketing department. Total Rewards is a loyalty program for the people that visit the casino. They receive "player's cards" and use them in the machines and build up credits to use for casino complimentaries like the buffet, or they can order crap from a menu.

We also run the casino promotions, like the cash giveaways. Last month we gave away an RV, this month we're giving away $1,000,000 and a pontoon. Cool stuff.

That sums up my job pretty well too. I'm a customer service rep for an HMO...a Medicare replacement insurance company...for everyone not from America (and for some of you Americans too, ignorant fools you may be) Medicare is this country's pitiful attempt to provide the elderly with medical care. My job is to talk to our members and their doctors about what we cover, how much it costs and all that good stuff. Mainly, I talk to old people who:

A) Cannot remember the last time they called in and are calling again for the same reason as before.
B) Are not getting their medical needs covered and are convinced they will die before an insurance company does a damn thing about it.
c) Can't afford to pay for their prescriptions and make me feel like I should stab myself in the eye before the age of 65 so I don't have to deal with anything like what they face everyday.

My job makes me wish I was earning money for retirement. But I'm not.

I do however get paid the unholy sum of $13 an hour for sitting on my ass talking on the phone...and ocassionally faxing.

I also ocassionally get yelled and cursed at by people who sound like my grandparents on the phone. I swear to god, first week on the phones someone called me a "Crooked Motherfucker" and last week I was told that the government must surely hire my company to kill the old people of America.

woot

i work at my parents chinese take out place. i pack orders and take the phone. i only have to work on fridays and saturdays. i only get 100 dollars a month. i think i get paid about 2 dollars an hour. it's basically child labor. and my older siblings never had to work there, they get a car to go out and see movies well i get stuck working because i have no choice. it's really depressing because i don't like people, in general, but i'm forced to serve them. and i have to smile and they make horrible jokes like, "are u old enough to be working" or when i ask for an ID they go "after i see yours". i really want to punch them all in the face. i get the feeling i'm just going to snap one day and jump across the counter and strangle a customer.

i one day hope to work at target, stocking supplies, but i have to be 16 years old, so 6 more months

I don't have a job. I fear that if and when I do anytime in high school, my grades will slip like crazy. I don't mean to brag, but I'm a A+, B student, to have a D on anything will probably kill me. I'm not lazy or anything, I want a job. I love money, and I love to spend money. Luckily, it's my senior year in the fall, and since I might have 4 or 5 classes... a job could be under consideration.

I am a manager at a large supermarket chain in Australia, Our store is the second busiest in our state. I also run a hosting business on the side as a hobby and to being in a bit more cash. Although I am making more from that than my manager job and I don't even need to really do much :S .

I can't have a job yet legally. Even when I'm doing work experience next year, I'll still be 14 which means my employers have to have their criminal records checked so I don't get murdered.

Goodbye Coles store #821. Can't say I miss ye. :D

Right now I have a job out at the greyhound track carrying beer to people. The only hard bit is resisting the temptation to take a swig as I wander to their table.
Just got an 'all but assured' offer to work 35 hours a week in the deli at the local supermarket as well. Might do both.

I don't have a job. I want to concentrate on my A-Levels. They're bloody annoying. If I got a job, I would just slack off in my work.

Actually, my current job is persuading my friend to go for Oxford.

Gracie, you must be minted!

Working while doing school work doesn't really affect work much. Considering how much you lot are on KKW a day anyway, thats alot of time wasted :P Besides all the time you say you're doing school work or study, you're actually not.

Sony centre work today was long. 8 1/2 hour day. But I did watch Tim Henman beat some guy, and Greg Rusedski regrettably get knocked out.
Oh yeah, we also had 2 massive Tiger woods golf 2004 tournaments. 18 holes, rain, wet, windy conditions, on the course 'predator'. Such a crazy course!!

My main occupation is leeching off society (aka being a student). To make some money on the side I work for a medical lab that analyzes pretty much everything you can find in the human body. The job isn't exactly intellectually challenging, but fairly interesting (we do pregnancy tests too, you wouldn't believe how young some of those mothers-to-be are) and the pay is ok.

I've got a job lined up for me at Kroger, a region-wide chain of grocery stores (don't they have them in Cincy, ryan?) once college starts up. I'm not sure what kind of hours I'm gonna have to work, so I'm uncertain right now...

I don't have a job, but I will.

Preferably at a sub sandwich or deli place like Schlozky's, Quizno's, Subway, or City Bites. Simple wages for a simple job. :)

Thing about those fast food deli's like subway, I don't think you'd get tipped much at all, and you have to follow all of these stringent health and safety regulations which get tedious, like wearing gloves, washing your hands, microwaving chicken, covering your hair (with teriyaki sauce?:P), before putting them in sandwiches... I mean when did salmonella do anyone any harm...

I'm all for that, how much do you get paid? If you do choose to work at Best Buy... do it, it's not very often I go there and when I do I get excited. It's fun. Circuit City is good too.
