A thread for all you lurkers out there - hundreds, thousands of you! We know you're there - you read KKW every day but you've never registered, you've never posted. Why not?

We dare you, the daily lurker, to make your presence known (registration takes 15 seconds, no activation) and tell us exactly why you've been in hiding for so long!

Surely we don't scare you *that* much...

Yes we do, it's obvious that we do. Newbies take one look at the shoutbox and the rest is just history, and they never come back. My advice to the little lurkers... you never know until you try.

Besides, sometimes the newbies are treated like shit. But only because they lack common sense, so I don't blame the mods.

Most don't lurk, they get all excited about Keira, sign up with good intentions, then never return. Maybe it's time to clean out some of the deadwood in the member list, hmm?

But then we won't achieve our goal of getting 1,000 members. We'll drop down to less than 100 active participants.

True. Honesty never helped anyone.

This is just a clever trick to get the lurkers to post!

Incidentally, the shoutbox doesn't seem to work with Opera. If nonny was here, he'd troutslap you good, barrington... :)

It does work, it just buggers up every so often...I use it with Opera, and more often than not it works, it just cunts up every so often.

I just think that the lurkers are scared. If they step a toe out of line, they think that the mods/admins will be on there case for all eternity. It's all right guys, they'll be nice to you...

...as long as you give us cookies, and chocalate cake. :icon_popc

Just noticed from the middle of page 8 to the last page 14 member lists (assorted by post count) have posted 0 posts... We have so many scared kiddies :(

Lots of people register and then just forget about it.

Please let yourselves be known!

People are afraid to post because true relativists don't exist, though I think there would be some here who say they are such.

If anyone posts an opinion that's contrary to one's, it's sure to get torn up, smacked down, utterly annihilated by fusilades of digital rhetoric. Even the benevolent posters--DR (Are you the only one?)--who are not so quick to name call and do/say all those things that they accuse their detractors of saying/doing, oh so subtlely refute said person's conjectures.

In short, admins and their cronies are right; people without icons or clever titles, wrong.

It took me over a week to make my first post, now look at me. The spam-professor comes from humble roots.

I don't blame newbies for not posting. I was a little intimidated when I started too. In fact, if memory holds up, I sent Barrington a polite introduction letter to the site. I believe I referred to him as "Mr. Barrington" in the email. Ha! Mr...

I sent Barrington a polite introduction letter to the site. I believe I referred to him as "Mr. Barrington" in the email. Ha! Mr...

I still send Barrington those e-mails, and I've always called him Mr.Barrington. Still no replies...yet.:(....maybe because I refer to myself as 'Mrs. Barrington'?

I was actually thinking of starting a thread like this in the newcomers forum. Thanks for stealing the idea Barrington...before I mentioned it.

I say every lurker just registers and posts in the shoutbox. You can't be ridiculed there, well you can (right Apoggy? ;).....:() but it's not as harsh as the forums.

One time I saw this porno on Showtime called "Mrs. Barrington". Maybe they were afraid to post originally because they were afraid to talk to an adult film star...

well i've just read the forum rules...and i have to admit i'm a little scared now it is a little intimidating, but the way i see it, if you chose to register whats the point of lurking about, may as well post and put your 2 cents in.

Just my view here :err:

Hm, got a bit of an idea. You could mass email the people who registered but don't post, or when your not busy add them to AIM or whatever and bug them. I mean you guys were planning to do an email news service anyway, so you might as well test out the system and see how much people read it, and see if anyone comes back into activity?

Looking at the stats at the bottom right now, there are 39 people lurking around here. I actually find that rather creepy... they're here, but they're hiding! Please register and involve yourself with our discussions!

Maybe all these people are already registered and don't feel like signing in? :icon_conf
Nah, that can't be right. Register you lurkers!

I'm probably going to get yelled at by the tyrants in charge for bumping a 3 yo thread, so if you don't like it close it or bite me. When I was checking to see who's on line I seen a bot viewing this thread and thought it was a good thread and worthy of a bump. Since KKW seems to be a little dead lately this thread might get some action. So post people, Start some new threads, steal them from other forums, Show us your sense of humor, or how lame you are. Start a fight with me, I don't mind. Tell Hasselbrad and keiralover how they make you laugh. See if PeeDee can do her banana voodoo on you. Tell Foeni just give it up and admit you are gay. See if mandy will turn her webcam on for you. Call Hazzle a wuss. Ask Barrington about Stephan Hawking and about the car you won for joining. So come join our world and get an autographed Pic of Duckula in his Swimming trunks.

:Hail::Hail::Hail:

Well said. Ran for Prez!

Sorry, Ice...you'll have to stick with Prez's secretary. See if you can wear some decent pantyhose for a change...

As for me, I totally agree. Except on one thing: I can banana voodoo anybody I want. The choice is mine. Not yours. :icon_eplu

Ran's just looking for new newbies to torment. Not that that's a bad thing, mind you...
