This thread is in the wrong section of the forum it should have been placed under general discussion. I would move it for you but I am not an officer or moderator. That being said Futurama and Anamaniacs for the win.

I'm gonna be such a typical girl and say Gossip Girl and Desperate Housewives ;)

14-04-2009, 01:43 AM
In order of personal importance :P
- Bones....forever.
- True Blood (even though 1st season's over and I must wait...waaah!)
- The Big Bang Theory (I adore Sheldon.)
- Dexter

and of course re-runs of Shark, Boston Legal, and the occasional Grey's Anatomy when I'm in the mood.

Bones is epic.

Nothing can touch Futurama though.

It's a real bummer for me, too.

Summer Glau - "Terminator: SCC" Tv Series - Final word from showrunner Josh Friedman mardi 19 mai 2009, par Webmaster

By now most of you have heard the news that T: SCC is cancelled. I received a call earlier today from Peter Roth at Warner Bros. and I appreciate both his personal and professional support throughout this show’s life. I know a lot of you are angry about the cancellation and want to find a place to direct your anger and to that I say do yourself a favor and find a way to move past it. Every network wants a big fat hit, especially one with a brand name behind it, and Fox was/is no different. They supported the show, they supported my vision of the show, and they gave it plenty of time to find an audience.

And what an audience we found : passionate, intelligent, kind of nuts in a good way. My only complaint about the T: SCC fans is that there aren’t ten million of them. But I prefer to be happy for the ones we had instead of lamenting the ones we didn’t.

Good shows are cancelled every year ; smart shows, worthy shows, shows which move their viewers to write blogs and have viewing parties and create action figures and bury executives’ email accounts under thousands of messages. I miss Deadwood and The Wire and Arrested Development but thank God that I still have Rescue Me and The Office and a recently renewed Party Down written by ex-T: SCC writer John Enbom.

Bad shows are cancelled, too. And certainly there are those who did not like what we did and had their own vision for what a Terminator TV show should be. It’s easy to look at low ratings or cancellation as “failure” and for those who believe we’ve gone about this all wrong I’m sure today’s news will only serve to confirm a world view that I would never try to change. We’ve written the show as best we can, executed it to the best of our abilities, and sent it out in the world knowing that we worked out asses off to do something that wouldn’t be a waste of anybody’s forty-three minutes.

Thanks to a brave and talented cast, a feature crew working on a TV schedule, and everyone else who I could list but won’t because they know who they are. Mostly I’d like to thank those of you who’ve supported us and fought for us and given up hours of your life to watch our show. At the end of the day, that’s what it’s about. The watching.

Hope we do it again soon.

- The Big Bang Theory (I adore Sheldon.)

And here I was thinking I was the only one. I often go "aw" during one of those many "Sheldon" moments. I said to my sister the other week that I actually want a pet Sheldon.

Nothing can touch Futurama though.

The man speaks the truth.

Sex and the City (<3)

Ok, current shows (and making a point to avoid ones already mentioned):

1) Damages
2) Criminal Minds
3) Sons of Anarchy
4) The Good Wife

21-04-2010, 09:39 PM
Criminal Minds is it for me.
Others include Bones and stuff on A&E like The First 48.

21-04-2010, 10:56 PM
Criminal Minds is it for me.

We just got the 100th episode here. How fucking good was that?!

25-04-2010, 02:17 PM
The Good Wife is fast becoming the favourite. Excellent show.

25-04-2010, 08:26 PM
Big Bang Theory, I have a huge nerd-crush on Sheldon!

25-04-2010, 08:32 PM
I adore Sheldon. BBT is by far the best comedy on TV today.

25-04-2010, 08:35 PM
Agreed, I have not seen much of it but what I have has been brilliant. Anyone watch how I met your mother?

25-04-2010, 08:36 PM
Yep. Very close second, but Barney is no Sheldon.

25-04-2010, 08:37 PM
I adore Sheldon. BBT is by far the best comedy on TV today.

Most true thing I've heard today, for sure!

And I love How I Met Your Mother too, but BBT still wins!

26-04-2010, 06:35 AM
Sheldon is - easily - one of the best TV characters ever created.

I don't really watch anything at the moment. Oh, except Glee. The world stops for Glee, lol.

26-04-2010, 12:44 PM
Oh no, say it ain't so. Actually, if I'm honest, it looks rather funny, but I refuse to watch any show with singing in it as I'm sick of all this HSM spin-off shit.

HSM is the worst abomination known to man, so why people think it's a great idea to spin off concepts from it into other outlets, be they TV shows or films, is beyond me. Well, actually, it's not, it's great business and makes them lots of money. But I'm still not watching. Besides, they ruined Journey.

Yes, I'll refuse to watch shows on principle, even if they look good. Like 30 Rock. I can't stand Fey's politics, so I don't watch it, even though it looks funny.

26-04-2010, 09:03 PM
Oh god I hate HSM too. I tried watching the third one last year to have a laugh at it. I couldn't even laugh because it was so horrible! Ugh sorry but I just hate it with passion!

Bless, a girl after my own heart.

Treme - New HBO show by the makers of the Wire. About life in New Orleans after Katrina. Sublime television.

The Pacific - HBO again. Hanks/ Spielberg again. Brilliant. Again.

Justified - US Marshal solves crimes, shoots bad guys. What more do you want? Great acting and writing you say? It's got that too.

Fringe - Silly but awesome. P.S. Anna Torv. Future wife material.

27-04-2010, 01:32 PM
Also watching The Pacific. Dare I say it, it's better than BOB, at least so far.

Anna Torv is gorgeous. Thought so when I saw her in Mistresses. Yet to watch Fringe, though, as it does seem rather silly. But if it's good enough for Ducky...

27-04-2010, 10:38 PM
Fringe has gotten way better.

As for Glee....just because it has music, and takes place in a high school doesn't mean it's HSM! It's soooo much better! And it's dark!! And it's not the type of musical where they just randomly burst into song and dance or anything...all of the brilliantly rendered songs have their place in a storyline that makes sense. Trust me, just watch one episode. You'll like it.

27-04-2010, 11:51 PM
I concur about Glee. Fun to be had for everyone.

28-04-2010, 02:15 PM
Fine. I'll watch an episode just so I can say "hah! I told you so!"

I'll concede it looks better than HSM (not hard) but I will take umbrage with the idea that the songs are "brilliantly rendered". Every song I've heard has been horrifically mutilated. The storyline making sense isn't my problem.

Musicals are just a no-no in my book. Music, TV and films are separate mediums as far as I'm concerned and should stay that way. Generally people who make good TV don't make good music, and vice-versa.

29-04-2010, 12:49 AM
It is worth a look. Not personally a fan of musicals but they usually hang it all together well enough. It is occasionally prone to the mawkish sentimentalism but that's american teen dramas for you. The plus side: Funny + cheerleaders.

29-04-2010, 03:23 AM
Watch the Madonna episode.

29-04-2010, 09:35 AM
It is occasionally prone to the mawkish sentimentalism

That's the bit that worries me. But I'll definitely give it a look, and from what I've seen it does look funny. The cheerleaders I've seen look distinctly average, though; are there any hot ones?

29-04-2010, 01:27 PM
The lesbian cheerleaders are hilarious, especially the blonde one.

29-04-2010, 08:14 PM
I said hot, not hilarious :p

Sons of Anarchy. One of the few shows that keeps getting better with every season.

24-11-2011, 06:46 AM
My favourite TV show is x factors I like that because it brings out the talented people and everybody is having their unique talents.
