Summer holidays are coming and travelling for long boring hours of blank scenery are a must. What in your opinion, are the best tuens to listen to while you get wherever the helll you are going?

I usually take a very small road trip in the summer to SoCal or Ojai or somewhere cool.....not this year though with gas prices the way they are. I can tell you I don't sing road trip songs, but "99 Bottles of Beer on the Wall" does jump to mind.

Last time I drove any reasonable distance with a few mates I was subjected to the aural raping of Maroon 5 for hours on end.

Thankfully most long trips are spent in the company of friends with something resembling a modicum of taste.

I would have jumped from the car. I can honestly say that I would prefer 99 Bottles of Beer on the wall to any amount of time listening to Maroon 5.

You can't do a long car journey without headbanging to Bohemian Rhapsody at least once. :D

In a effort to answer my own question I went on a miserly two hour road trip.
During this time of reflection I listened to Moby, Pearl Jam, The Pixies, The Clash, The Ramones and some Tom Waits.

I'd have to say that you can't do a roadtrip without having Dire Straits' Telegraph Road pop up at least once.

I've been one some good road trips with thanks to Johnny Cash and Bob Dylan. AND AVRIL LAVIGNE, YESSSS.

You know, I don't really wish death on people. Maybe she should have some sort of tragic throat accident.

I could not road trip without Selena--and Pussy Control by Prince.

Strep throat left untreated causes rash all over the body and eventually lead to death. :D *This information was given to me by man smoking mota...maybe it not true. But we can hope, right?

'I Am A Passenger' by Iggy Pop, it's great while driving long distances!

After spending five years driving a Semi back and forth across America I can tell you that the miles just slip away with "Bat Out Of Hell" by Meat Loaf. The particular best string of Meat Loaf performances are on the two disc set "Live! Around The World"

And there is nobody better than almost anything by Maria McKee to follow that.

When you tire of all that, Margo Timmins of "The Cowboy Junkies" will sooth your soul and put you back together. There's nothing like being shattered while you are driving 80,000 pounds of beer from coast to coast.
