Basically, the Writer's Guild of America will be striking as of Monday morning, which will halt all good television for who knows how long. Already complete episodes like Heroes and CSI will air, but un-aired stuff like Lost and 24 will be fucked, as will the Colbert Report, Jay Leno, etc. Scrubs, God's gift to TV will be royally hosed, and seeing how this is the last season ever, I will nuke Hollywood if they pull the plug early.
TV land will be owned by re-runs and shit reality based exposes. Gag.

Thoughts?

welcome to my world. It's been a long time since Tv was any good, so much I didn't even bother plugging my TV.

You assume that any of the programs you listed are good.

The final season of The Wire has finished production so the amount of fucks I give is relatively limited.

Colbert Report is pretty damn spiffy. Certainly better than The Daily Show. Scrubs is good too.

The shows that will suffer at first are the talk shows. Leno and Letterman rely on current events content, so look for them to be re-runs for a while. Most regular shows have episodes in the can, ready for air, as well as a stockpile of scripts.
And, in other news, the sun will come up Monday.

Heroes will probably have its season finale on December 3rd...which is probably for the best, seeing as how season 2 is shit compared to the first season.

All good TV is dying. Does any one know the HBO series ROME. I love it, just got on DVD. However, HBO only put it on for 2 seasons. Although, they did kill off all the characters.

And there is that messy thing called history meaning the Roman empire came to an end.

If I recall correctly however, it did go on for a couple of years after the period portrayed on the tv show.

Not sure the latter stages of the Empire were all that much to write home about. But point taken.

Edward Gibbon might disagree (in six volumes).

"Pull the plug" was too good of a pun for you, and I know you stole it from something.

I am only sad that this effects Colbert and Daily Show.

And for the record, I get more lol-value out of the Daily Show, though Colbert is just as close to my heart. John Stewart may be my favorite person in the world. I'm going to try to get myself on that show if I can.

I probably stole it from someone, can't think of who.

I love Colbert more then Stewart because Colbert came to FSU last year and said fuck unblepped. I shat my pants in joy. I just don't find Jon as funny as Colbert, but that's me.

And hopefully not Stargate Atlantis. Sad I know, but its very addictive-the ageing make-up is hilarious!

Whatever happened to Arrested Development? It won all those awards and it was suddenly pulled by the Fox network after 2 and a half seasons...

It sailed over most Americans' heads and therefore got shit ratings.
Rehashed Gong Shows are more our speed.

Heh. My point was I don't think it would be entertaining to the masses (ie illiterate Americans).

Because Fox is a giant cunt, just like NBC with Scrubs.

It's not that Americans didn't understand it, it was just very poor marketing on FOX's part. They moved the time slot a lot and never put up ads for it, and it wasn't getting ratings so they cut the budget. It's too bad.

But David Cross has a rant about it in season 2 bloopers on the DVD. It's great, very well put by him, about how fox sucks at marketing a show that won dozens of awards. And it was really funny because he was dressed as Mrs. Weatherbottom while doing it.

I heard the last three episodes of seasons three were run consecutively against the winter Olympic opening ceremony.
Thats so stupid, Arrested development is brilliant

Fox only runs ads for 24. Seriously, who needs a "teaser trailer" for a new TV season?

frodo1511
08-11-2007, 02:32 PM
Well, looks like 24 won't air this season...

And their are only 12 completed scripts out of the 18 planned episodes for the final season of Scrubs. Fuck.

Well, look on the bright side...more time for video games and illegal street racing.

I do plan on picking up Mass Effect and Assassin's Creed over Thxgiving...but that won't bring Scrubs back from the dead. Anyone know of a good zombie resurrection guide?

What was the tagline from Dawn of the Dead? "When there's no more room in Hell, the dead will walk the Earth."
Organise a mass suicide so Hell fills up, then it'll be a cakewalk.
