Morbid? You bet your sweet ass!
Who does everyone think from the celebrities listed, will be the first to take a dirtnap?
For those of you living in a cave, the contestants are...

Amy Winehouse - drug addled lounge singer. Looks like a scarecrow with one of Diana Ross' "Supreme" wigs and tits.
Lindsay Lohan -Three trips to rehab and a currently pending cocaine possession/DUI/kidnapping case against her all in less than 9 months.
Pete Doherty - It would take some freakish Dr. Seuss character's hand to count this guy's drug arrests on one. Smokes crack...can't be long for this world.
Tom Sizemore - Sadly...the most talented in the race. Has developed a taste for crystal meth.
Britney Spears - Most public meltdown since Chernobyl. Stint in rehab did about as much good as Li Lo's.
Nicole Ritchie - Weighs 59 lbs...and is pregnant.
Nicole Ritchie's fetus - Smart money is on her mother's body cannibalizing the poor dear for its nutritional value.

I voted Amy, sadly. She's doing really bad.

I have a sneaking suspicion K. Fed will get custody of the kids when Britney's stubble headed corpse is found in a bathtub with a bottle of rum and several empty pill bottles nearby.

Speaking of K. Fed, I always thought he was a giant twat, but I must say he's got all the parenting points from what I've heard.

...yeah, but sperm isn't really all that bright. Or, particular.
We should have side bets on whether or not the baby will outweigh the mother at birth.

it will be Ritchie's fetus. It's mother weighs nothing. it is not healthy. one of the 2 will starve, and if either starves, the kid will die.

Perhaps Britney has climbed back into the lead after that disaster of a performance. Apparently, she'd been fucked up for days in Vegas (rehab didn't take? Shocking!) and didn't bother to rehearse.
And, Sarah (Goddess) Silverman's remarks didn't help the poor dear's self esteem.

what performance? :icon_conf

I'd search youtube, but I have no idea what it is I'd be looking for. Anybody got a link? :D

MTV Video Music Awards.
She danced like a cow and didn't manage to lip-synch. And, she wore an outfit that was, at the very least, unflattering.

Here you go. (http://video.google.com/videoplay?docid=6626938265511094216&q=britney+VMA+performance&total=657&start=0&num=10&so=0&type=search&plindex=2)

Cowdance is taking over the nation!

Can't wait til Ritchie's Skeleton Shuffle hits it big.

I think the last person I want it to be on that list is the one most likely to go. And that's the baby. It sucks, but it's true.

Yep, Nicole's foetus has a black spot on its head from the word "go". If it doesn't miscarry it'll be dead inside by age 5 anyway.

If its in there till the age of 5 it'll rip thru her belly like the alien creature, not that there is anything wrong with that.

Hahaha that would be a sight to behold!
I'm pretty sure I mean if its born into the world and survives til ages 5, it'll be dead inside.

Britney still appears to be in the lead. Kids taken away because she failed to get a driver's license. How fucked up is that?
She's got a temporary, which begs the question exactly how low are the standards for getting a driver's license in California if this nutbag can get one?
Oh...and Dr. Phil has offered his help.

Mandy

Well she has a valid license now, she just has to wait for it to come in the mail. Those "temporary" ones are the ones they give you at the DMV because your license isn't ready yet. As long as she has that with her at all times, it's considered valid until her real one comes. They don't have that where you live?

Nope. Here in Florida (even though we can't get elections right :dontknowa ) they are able to print it right out and hand it to you.

No clear winner in 2007 (i.e. no dirtnaps) but "Unfitney" certainly has her track shoes on for 2008! (http://www.cnn.com/2008/SHOWBIZ/Music/01/04/spears/index.html?eref=yahoo)
I guess she saw Lohan's antics in Italy and decided she needed to kick it into another gear.

Dr. Phil? Oh yeah that's reasuring! Well as much of a quack as he may be hopefully he'll have enough sense to just give her a bottle of vodka and a revolver so she can be done with it already.

Seems to me like Britney has just lost it completely. Letting her kill herself isn't funny.

She's been raised by parents who couldn't be bothered to actually raise her, she's got too much money, too few true friends and she's been crying out for help all year. Poor thing.

You're sooooo right.
His common sense approach to peoples' problems are pure quackery compared with the Hollywood solution. She should just go to one of those celebrity rehab places that work, oh so well. Surely Britney's got LiLo's number.
Speaking of her, it appears that she's fallen off the wagon and landed on several Italian genital-men. At least the next rehab stint will be in a different calendar year.

Wow. Other wins. Brad Renfro...dead at age 25. For those who care, he played the "stranger" who shot Jack Starks in The Jacket...among other roles. I just figured that would keep it Keiracentric.
Sad.

That's not even half funny.

Good thing...I was only trying to be about a quarter funny.
It's so sad to see people with immense amounts of talent throw it all away. And, yes, I know that the pills found near Ledger's body were prescription, but I have a feeling the autopsy will reveal a lot more than Ambien. Marcia showed me an interview he gave recently, and it was pretty obvious he was on more than sleeping pills. He couldn't stop fidgeting and scratching his arms and would completely lose track of what he was being asked. That, and the fact that he looked really gaunt and pale at the premiere of I'm Not There.
It's amazing how fragile life can be.

I wasn't referring to you, there was a post in between yours and mine but it's gone now.

As for Heath Ledger, apparently he was on an anti-anxiety drug too, not just sleeping pills. The sleeping pills he was on have a really bad reputation in Australia, and have caused very strange things to happen to people (see http://www.news.com.au/story/0,23599,23097466-29277,00.html).

Called Ambien in the US, the tablet is marketed as Stilnox in Australia and hit headlines last year when a national drug hotline fielded calls from users reporting strange side-effects.

Some 500 people described odd behaviours from walking, crashing cars, having sex and falling from balconies after popping a pill. One patient gained 23 kilograms over seven months after unknowingly eating from the refrigerator while asleep. Another patient woke up with a paintbrush in her hand after painting the front door.

In November, the Therapeutic Goods Administration (TGA) reduced pack sizes and updated its warnings on the drug to protect people from its "worrying and potentially dangerous adverse effects".

(...)

In an interview with the New York Times last November, Heath Ledger said he'd been taking Ambien sleeping pills, which according to the newspaper, "failed to work".

"He took a second one and fell into a stupor, only to wake up an hour later, his mind still racing," the journalist reported.

Also, the pills weren't exactly found scattered around his body, as initially reported. There were just pills in containers in the apartment, not all over the bed or anything.

Australian media are reporting that he had pneumonia at the time of his death, and that this sleeping pill can have adverse effects when someone has respiratory issues. Pneumonia could very well bring those on, so that might have something to do with it.

Preliminary autopsy report is inconclusive.

I've taken Ambien and I've never had any problems with it. I'd be interested to know how many of those 500 are on other medications, prescribed or not. Many a Hollywood/rockstar overdose came from taking barbituates to take the edge off of a cocaine high.
Coincidentally, I just returned from the old burned out warehouse where I was pointing out where hazardous materials may or may not be to an environmental clean-up specialist, and I came face to face with drug abuse. The vagrants that are living in and around the old building all look pretty much like the classic meth-heads.
A man and woman are living in an old shed out back. She turns tricks there.
So very sad.

It's sad to hear so young people die. Nicole had a baby girl so her unborn fetus is out. I hope she feeds her baby well.

I am surprisingly upset about Heath Ledger. Wait, that sounded wierd - of course it is upsetting. I am upset to a surprising degree over Heath Ledger. There.

The first autopsy was found inconclusive. They found a rolled up twenty near him, but there were no illegal drug traces on the money or on him, apparently. I would have been shocked to hear it was illegal drug-related. I'm so sad for him and his family, and his little girl. :(

I have the same thing. I can't work out why this has got to me, but it has. I don't know the guy, don't even know much about him, but for some reason it's just very upsetting, just absolutely terrible.

Mags sent me an email about it, and my first reaction was just "wtf?" and checking any and all news websites I could think of, hoping it wasn't true. I don't understand why I care so much, but I guess I just do.

Because, by all accounts, he was a really nice guy. Never in trouble with the law and universally liked. Brad Renfro wasn't really a shock. He was a good actor and also, by all accounts, a nice guy. However, he'd had a good bit of trouble with the law, so it wasn't as much of a shock.
That rolled up twenty is sounding more and more sinister. They found no illegal drugs, but they find that. I wonder if he had a visitor at some point, who either left, not knowing that he died, or worse, freaked out and left when he did die and left him for someone else to find.
Sorry, ever since I started writing screenplays (Kelsey's fault ;) ) my mind is always working like this.

The thing is, he looked like an arrogant, fidgety, uninterested bloke at times.

At the same time, I think that was mostly his not knowing what to do with everything that came with fame. He seemed like a nice enough guy off-duty, so to speak.

I just finished reading Joe Eszterhas' book. It's not a strenuous read by any stretch, but there are a lot of fascinating little anecdotes that really reveal stars for who most of them are...arrogant and completely unable to handle fame.

Leonie

You're probably right. At the same time, I can't help but think that most of us would turn into arrogant, insecure little fuckers if we got a whole load of cash for doing a whole lot of nothing all of a sudden, while being praised into heaven and simultaneously criticised for everything we do, while being followed around.

Plus, as far as Heath Ledger goes, it sounds like some of his characters got under his skin and stayed there and wreaked some havoc.

I read that...

I don't know if Heath Ledger was arrogant or not. I saw him on Oprah once and he didn't strike me as being so. A lot of Hollywood-types have been saying things about him on TV and the radio and one of them was Ebert basically saying that he was a much better and much more serious actor than a lot of people give him credit for. A couple of the last parts he played really got to him.

I am glad to hear that it is starting to look like an accidental death versus suicide.

You've got to be kidding me! (http://www.latimes.com/entertainment/news/la-me-spears31jan31,0,365882.story)
Again?!?!
Interesting little dig about the size of the motorcade at the bottom of the article. I wonder if someone in the police department is going to have to answer to why they needed a presidential sized motorcade to get an over hyped/pampered pop star to the hospital. I wouldn't think a police helicopter hovering over the house would be a bit disconcerting for someone in her state.
