I work at a Dunkin' Donuts inside Stop and Shop in Rhode Island. For those not from the New England part of the US or not the US at all, DD is a coffee/donuts chain and Stop and Shop is a large popular supermarket.

What do the rest of you fools do for a living?

I've never had a real job before, but I've been working at my college's language lab for the past year. The lady in charge found out that I could speak French and Spanish and offered me the job. So I took it and I'm glad cause there's really not much to do there except copy tapes, so I get to meet a lot of people, and I get to do my homework there. Plus, some of my co-workers are hot.

I only work during the summer, and I work for a private hospital called Cedars Sinai. I work tuesdays and thursdays for a geneticist, I help him organize, file and make photocopies for him. Then on wednsdays I work at the main hostpitals. In the mornings I work for the labor & delivory. I do some patient delivery work and scanning. Then, I work in teh magazine delivery area and I deliver magazines to patients. All of this is for community service. I am earning a good 20+ horus a week, which is great for college.

Cedars Sinai.
In Southern Cali, right? I thought by looking at your pictures that you seemed like an L.A. person. Where in Southern California do you live (if you don't mind my asking)?

Josher

Yes, it is the Jewish hospital in Beverly Hill 'ish' kind of area. I live in LA, but in a suburb called Studio City. How does one 'look' like a California person? My hair? how does it look? it is like 1 inch longer now.

The view from your window, and the little bit of building you can see behind your car. Studio City was going to be my second guess. I was actually thinking Brentwood.

I'm interning for the summer. I'll work part time for an investment bank next fall in its London branch.

My sister works at Cedars Sinai. Small world.

Yes it really is. Fancy that, haha. Brentwood, not a bad guess. Where are you from?

Central Valley (Manteca - near Stockton)....I just happen to know that area of Los Angeles better than I do my own town.

Wasn't there a thread on this before? I swear there was...Capitalist Thread or something it was called...I'm sure Cliff could enlighten me on that, as I believe he started it.

...medical supply company. Which means I do whatever needs to be done. Today, for instance, I'll be running the warehouse and placing purchase orders. As bad as it sucks working for my father (and it does, because he is crazy and probably in the first stages of Alzheimers...I'm not kidding here, that shit ate my grandfather's brain) it sure beats my last job. I sold screws.

Barrington...nice catch. That was what I used to tell people.

It was actually a traveling sales job, covering the Southeastern United States for an importer of "construction fasteners". I called on the guys in the stores. Nucking fightmare! Worst company ever! Our biggest selling product was an 1 1/4" fine thread screw. 75% of all drywall is hung with that screw. We ran out (due to a manufacturing problem) of that screw!

My daughter, who was 4 or 5 at the time called it "daddy's screw job".
Children are very perceptive. :icon_wink

That shit's expensive. $400 for a 40 gig ipod? thank god the ipod mini is (somewhat) cheaper. I don't want one, since I have few CD's , or the money/internet speed/patience for itunes.
