Personally I do not care she is still damn fine. Though I am pretty ure she is not dumb enough to believe in scientology or the ape religeon of people being evil (get your paws off me).

We haven't a clue and I think that's how it should stay. It's not really our business at all, is it?

...and does that make me the virgin mary?

Can I be Salomon?
My sister once put a knife in my cradle when I was a baby (she probably had a premonition of what was to come...) so I take that as a sign.
Oh, no, wait....I'm Socrates. Boo.

I first read that as salmon and thought, "hmm yeah sure, I guess they ate salmon in the bible."

And yes, Jesus was Jewish. Had he been a Christian, he would have had tickets on himself.

Actually, it's really sort of my fault. Jeez, can't you get your blame right?

Leonie

Let me get this straight: these past few days I've been called mean, power-obsessed and a borderline Mormon.

Sniff.

And I still don't know my place in the KKW nativity scene.

I don't think Keira is religious, otherwise she won't be goin topless in films. But must have a Christian background though.

I dont think she beleives in the scientology crap either.

Then again, all this is speculation.

Yeah, because the 11th Commandment was:

Going topless hardly constitutes adultery.
Regardless, there isn't a Christian who isn't a sinner.

Hey, I'm just goin by what I learnt at Sunday School. I'm not a Christian myself, but my family are.

But commiting adultry is not just having affairs with other peoples wives or husbands. Its looking at a man or woman in the wrong way/sexualy and wanting them, and the person encouraging them aswell. Well something like that, there are other meanings but I think I've explained it kinda wrong. But anyway:).

So all I'm saying is, if Keira was a Christian or whateva, she wouldn't go topless for the whole world to see, because that would be diliberatley sinning.

I've haven't been goin church latley for a while now, my mum tries to force me, but u know what can u do...:icon_err:

From an official point of view:

Ms. Knightley is an English citizen. The Official religion of the kingdom and commonweralth is teh Church of England (which is Protestant). The Church originated with Henry VIII, so he could get divorced and then killed and divorced his next 4 wives. then he died. His 6th wife died afterward. Anyway, she is likely a protestant (darn, she was almost perfect). She could, however be an atheist, diest (god, I hope so), agnostic, a drinker (who's god is the bottle), catholic (I, unfortunately, doubt that).

So, she is likely a Protestant, but otherwise it is anyones guess

so your saying all english people are CofE because its the state religion??

Thats a very sweeping generalisation... and one that is likley to offend a great many people.

(and for the record, CofE is actually Anglican, which encompasses elements of the catholic and reformation branches of Christianity)

Hazzle
11-10-2007, 11:52 AM
"Good" job is debateable but better than the alternatives and the hell on Earth that would be Hillary or Obama. And on the subject of WMDs...you should do your research. Under the UN resolutions Iraq wasn't supposed to have any long-range missiles (regardless of chemical/biological warheads) and yet within seconds of invading Iraq US troops were hit by...you guessed it...long-range missiles. Whoops.

Leonie
11-10-2007, 11:55 AM
Doesn't matter. Completely irrelevant. Lucky, sure, but irrelevant, since that wasn't their official reason for starting this war.

Mind you, there were WMDs, pointed out by US intellegence in the field as well as civilians going "down this road, to your right," but for some reason, the White House never felt they needed to do anything with this information.

It wasn't? I'm FAIRLY sure (since they went to the UN to get backing) that the official reasoning given was to uphold the UN resolutions. So you're wrong. And anyway, there were a billion reasons given for the war (none of which were the true reason, but all of which were valid).

Leonie
11-10-2007, 12:05 PM
I should probably have left "official" out. However, I do think they asked for UN backing in relation to a breach of the resolutions due to WMDs. So half wrong, half right.

Either way, an intelligence officer pointed out the exact location, yet Bush here failed to do anything with the information. So much for warmongering to make the world a better place. At least the Aussie prime minister admits that half the reason they went to Iraq was to secure the oil. To me, Bush is the absolute epitome of being a flog.

However, all this has nothing to do with the thread topic, so I'll shut up now :)

Hazzle
11-10-2007, 12:08 PM
Like I said, nobody said it was the real reason. Clearly it was a war over oil, every side's agenda was oil-related. The French opposed it because they had agreements in place to secure the oil for French oil companies, the Americans wanted to nullify those deals. It was a corporate war on both sides. Plus I don't believe it was a coincidence that it was lead by people connected with George Bush Snr's administration. That war was as much about oil as the poor Kurds or Kuwaitis but nobody batted an eyelid then. People forget that war has always had financial motivations, it goes back to the Roman Empire (which expanded to grow its wealth).

(And I love how "Keira's Religion" has gone onto the Iraq war...that's impressive)

Heh.

Nobody knows this person so anything mentioned here is pure conjecture, which makes the discussion rather pointless. On the other hand, the more intelligent and well informed of us can debate a topic such as the Iraq conflict for hours.

It was inevitable, really :icon_lol:
