I don't love her now. She's a skinny bint. Pretty enough but that's all.

Anyway, by the time I'm over 30 she'll be in her mid 20's so it's ok ;)

welcome my fellow asian.

Wrong kind of asian my friend. In fact, there are two very distinct asian groups before you become 'fellow asians'

i would agree cliffeh. the fobs and the relatively normal ones.

well then there's the third catagorey of surprisingly hot asians.

Haha that's kind of like how it's "OK" that Michael Douglas and Catherine Zeta-Jones were married. With a 25 year age difference. :p

So which category would I fit in ;)

Actually what I meant was on geographical terms, Iran etc, India etc, Korea/China etc. From what I understand from my Iranian friends, they refer to themselves as Persian. Which works, and sounds quite neat.

ah yes, and where do indians fit in?

i'd say they're oriental, but i'm not so sure about how flexible the term "asian" should be

Hey! She's only 4 years younger than me missy!

Runangl you'd call Indians Oriental? Weird.

Most people from the middle-east usually use the country, from my experience, so my Lebanese friends call themselves Lebanese. Then there are sort of more regional groups like "Persian" for Iran and Iraq and "Arab/arabian" for someone who's from Saudi, Bahrain UAE etc.

Generally I call asians from China, Japan, Korea etc "oriental" and "asian" to me normally means an Indian, Pakistani etc.

All asians used to look the same to me...Then I worked at a casino and got to know a lot of them and they are very different.

And there I was thinking all that self tan lotion would make a difference...

Igotsmoke: If you're going to be stereotyping (I think most people gathered that I was being funny, whereas you were not), my family in Korea don't have trouble recognising white people, but they do have extreme difficulty telling the difference between black people. I assume its thats due to the not-so-secret urge to be caucasian that many oriental people share, helped along by the fascination of white people in the oriental media.
But I think thats going beyond the scope of this thread.

To make people laugh, stand in front of a mirror and laugh at yourself for at least an hour a day. Its good practice.

I can laugh at myself. I do it regularly. Maybe its because we dont know each other well enough to get my humour. But in the future im sure I could make you laugh.
