A rumour lost in the haze of the Oscar nomination, the Vanity Fair furore and the Boleyn Girl rumours has proved to be correct - Keira will star in an adaptation of Ian McEwan's novel Atonement. She will play Cecilia and filming will take place in June/July. P&P's Joe Wright will direct, and will again be for Working Title. This is according to the Daily Mail today (usually reliable). More soon.

Yes, maybe he will play Leon, although I think he is way too old. I wonder who Rue McClanahan will play. She is too old to play their mother so I have no idea.

There's a casting call for Keira's double going on today for the scenes to be filmed in Shropshire. This should be on my local news tonight as I'm not that far away. Can't wait to see what sort of people are in the queue thinking they look like Keira :p

Why would they need a double if it's not a professional stunt double I wonder ?

This movie has so many good things going for it. It will be directed by Joe Wright, it has James Mcavoy. I love Mr Tumnus! And it has Mathew MacFadyen.

Now I can't wait.

Along with "Nightwatching" to do "Death at a Funeral"... I also believe that his wife is pregnant.

"Atonment" sounds great... Is Cecilia (Knightley) the main character? I smell another Oscar nomination (and hopefully a win!) I hate Reese Witherspoon

Brenda Blethyn (Mrs. Bennet) signed on to play the older version of Briony.

marilynka

No, she isn't. Briony is. And Robbie.
Brenda Blethyn won't play older Briony but Robbie's mother.

www.imdb.com (http://www.imdb.com) says that Brenda is Briony Tallis (older).

I just saw some pics of Matthew today and its quite sad. He's gotten a bit larger since "P&P".

They're going to have 27 different Brionies....
And I wonder when Keira will begin filming her parts for this movie. I heard a rumor that she's to do a full frontal nude scene for this one. With Joe Wright directing, it couldn't go wrong. That would be so sweet!

From Monday's Variety:

Brenda Blethyn, Vanessa Redgrave and Romola Garai have joined the cast of helmer Joe Wright's "Atonement," which started shooting in the U.K. last week.

Pic stars Keira Knightley and James McAvoy, with a script by Christopher Hampton adapted from Ian McEwan's novel.

Newcomer Saoirse Ronan will play a 13-year-old who damages the lives of all around her when she accuses her sister's boyfriend of a crime he did not commit.

The movie is produced by Tim Bevan, Eric Fellner and Paul Webster for Working Title. Exec producers are Richard Eyre, Robert Fox, Debra Heyward and Liza Chasin. Focus Features will handle distribution in North America, with Universal Pictures Intl. releasing the movie in the rest of the world.

Filming is taking place now at Stokesay Court, outside Ludlow in Shropshire.

I've been looking at the novel for this film, but I still haven't bought it. new to the forum just to say. Atonement started filming last week in Grimsby docks. rained buckets during the filming. It was reported that keira was to be in Grimsby for filming and James McAvoy. I hope she liked the place but sorry about the weather.

Filming was don through the night and quite a few brave souls actually went down to watch them film.

There is a few peek shots of the filmest on our local newspaper.

**cough**Tara Reid**cough**

'Scary' is the last adjective I'd use to describe Keira's breasticles, but it would be pretty high up the list to describe Tara's.
You'd think she'd be able to afford a boob job from a plastic surgeon rather than a taxidermist.

Hey Paul, have you ever considered telling the people at Keira Seduction that putting a "do not remove tag" over your Keiraweb tag on video screen captures is a bit off? Just wondering. (Like so: http://www.k-knightley.org/gallery/thumbnails.php?album=941)

Hehe, yeah I noticed that too. She normally credits me on the album page - perhaps she will when she reads this.

I've never been a big fan of tags either - that might sound hypocritical as I put watermarks on all my clips, but as I've gone to the trouble of making and editing the clips I feel justified in doing so. Especially since the dawn of YouTube etc.

Paul

Leonie
14-03-2007, 08:44 PM
Oh absolutely, I agree with you 100%

However, pressing the screen capture button a few times does not give you the right to put annoying little "do not remove" tags on captures. Let alone on photos you just happened to stumble across on the internet. It's fine to put a tag on stuff you've worked for, operative word being "you." And possibly "worked."

Thanks for the book tip. Just finished it, and you're right, fantastic. Couldn't help imagining Keira as Cecilia as I read it. Didn't anybody feel kind of cheated at the end of the book? like robbed of the "happily ever after"? I was so happy he'd made it back to her...and then it turns out it was a happily ever after made by her? *heart-broken*
But I also loved how Ian McEwan gives you such contradictory feelings, especially towards Briony. You start off practically hating her, and during her training as Nurse you kind of "warm up", and just end up loving her. It was so sad, the way she was supposed to die. Ironic, too.

From what I understand, a false accusation by Birony (younger sister...played by several women throughout her life) ruins Celia (Keira) and Robbie's (James McAvoy) romance. He goes off to war and Celia is left behind. Over the course of the film (novel), Birony is forced to come to terms with the heartbreak she mistakenly caused.
Oh yeah...and Keira is clad in wet undergarments for a few moments. Worth the price of admission alone.

Either I'm very slow and didn't notice the joke, or Brad accidentally misspelled the character's names....anyway, I'll risk being slow and correct it. The younger sister is called Briony, Keira's character is called Cecilia, and the fountain scene is key. It's the definite catalyst that leads to Robbie's letter, hence the beggining of the end.
It's more than just Keira in soaken undergarments while clutching broken porcelain.
If your only aim is to see her semi-naked, check out (once again) the Hole or Domino or whatever.

I think, knowing Brad, he was being facetious, as was I. Brad's never been much of a "Keira-perv".
