Keira says Prince Wiliam looks like a horse:

I reckon she probably said about him being the horsey-type, ie. liking to ride round on them (which Keira doesn't like). He doesn't look like a horse anyway.

Sarah Jessica Parker. Now THERE's someone who looks like a horse :)

A little snippet from a news article. All these fucking Keira-hate articles with no substance are starting to get a little grating...oh well...Keira's being lined up for role after role...so who's winning the battle, Keira or her critics?

"While Berry is the very embodiment of hot right now, it got us thinking who's not?

And we say, King Arthur's Keira Knightley.

From the time she launched her bony thigh at a soccer ball in Bend It Like Beckham to her "too pretty to notice I'm a bitch" performance in Love Actually, Knightley has got on a lot of nerves.

It's the blank stare (oh, to be a serious actor!), the asexual appeal and almost nauseating way the English glossies have fallen all over her as some kind of latter-day Judi Dench."

It's easy to bloody say Berry's the better actress...a meaty role like Monster's Ball was surely going to allow her more chance to show her skills...and unlike Keira's SPECTACULAR performances in Pure and Dr Zhivago, it wasn't a small indie thing.

Ahh well...full article is here:

http://www.smh.com.au/articles/2004/08/08/1091903441613.html

(And yes, I'm aware it's a double post, but it's an entirely different topic so I felt the double post appropriate)

Wow. That was clearly written by someone who hasn't seen the American reviews for Catwoman yet.

The Sun had a piece the other day about the Arena list, though, and they focused far more on Keira than they did on Kate Moss, who actually came in first. Not to mention, they were much nicer to her than that Herald writer.

And the hate continues in today's Mail on Sunday. I swear the journalist who wrote it is jealous of Keira...it goes above and beyond questioning Keira's talent as an actress and is just downright personal. Example: "The only time I stopped wanting to shout at her to shut her mouth [during KA] when she finishes speaking rather than leaving her jaw ajar and eyes agog like a breathless cod...".

It's the journalist's (Molly Watson) second horrible piece in as many months on Keira. The first one was titled "Am I the only one who lives in fear of seeing that blank stare?"

I'd have to disagree Bazzle my man...the girl clearly can act...is she the best actress EVAR as some on here gush? Nope...but she is a capable actress who shows promise...one mustn't forget her mainstream films have been ones where she's hardly had the chance to show off many skills...I think The Jacket, Pride and Prejudice and Domino all look like they have the potential to be serious films which test her acting muscle...if she pulls them off, that'll show her potential has been realised...if she fails she'll be yet another wasted talent.

I think she can act, Dr Zhivago, Pure etc. She was fine in them...

Yus...what he said.

If she was an average looking woman, she would be free of such critics.

Truth...it's amazing how many people gush over Kate Winslet's ability to act where in my opinion she couldn't act her way out of a cardboard box...she's NEVER done anything I've enjoyed...but because she's the "role model" for how women should be comfortable if they're not a perfect rake thin waif...the press love her...and in my view her thin frame is a LOT of the reason for Keira being slated...people see her as a bad role model for young women.

Ok, sorry if this has already been posted, but I'm too lazy to look back through the 16 pages: In the July/August issue of Premiere, there is an article in the Editorial section(front of the 'zine) featuring you know who. Two people commented on the front page article featured a couple of issues back, one complaining on why they put both full-page pictures on one page(so he couldn't see them both on his fridge:) and another complementing her acting abilities. Also, there is a relativley new pic to go with it. If someone would be nice enough to put this article up for all to read, it would be great.

I think this will probably just gratuitous sex, pointless in further developing the plot and just put in as a way of inticing the viewers to see the film. Keira is not against showing her body if it artistically furthers the plot, like in Dr Zhivago

From The Jacket Production Notes

Co-star Keira Knightley read the Jacket script while on location in Dublin, filming the role of Guinevere in producer Jerry Bruckheimer’s medieval action drama King Arthur. “It was an exciting, imaginative script, and a role I wanted to play immediately,” recalls Knightley, who rose to stardom on the strength of her roles in Bend It like Beckham and Pirates of the Caribbean: The Curse of the Black Pearl. “The other eight scripts on my pile were variations of the same pretty, uptight British girl, but Jackie was this damaged character who meets a guy going through trauma. It’s very rare that a film will show people who are in the process of self-destructing.”

On a rare day off from the King Arthur shoot, Knightley, despite a debilitating case of food poisoning at the time, traveled to London to discuss The Jacket with Maybury and the producers, only to arrive at what turned out to be a lunch meeting. “I spent most of my energy trying not to projectile vomit on these people I desperately wanted to work with,” she says.

Maybury’s words did little to abate the young actress’ queasiness. “He told me that he did not think I was right for the role, and he didn’t want me,” she says. “At that moment, I had nothing to lose. I declared that if I didn’t get the part of Jackie I could be stuck in corsets for the next 20 years, and asked him to let me read. He agreed, and promised if he was convinced, then he would hire me. We shook on it. I read the part, he gave me some notes, then gave me his phone number and offered me the job.”

“I didn’t want Keira Knightley for the role,” admits Maybury. “I’d met 15 to 20 young American actresses, and there were at least two or three that I thought would be terrific as Jackie, so very reluctantly I met with her. I knew she was an interesting, pretty girl, but that was it as far as I was concerned. The fact that she had food poisoning at the audition actually served to make her act and look even more Jackie like. Then, when she read, she was excellent, and I realized that she was a very intelligent girl and a very good actor. She comes across almost like a young Jane Fonda.”

Reflecting on Jackie, Knightley says, “She is stuck in her past, carrying a huge amount of guilt from the death of her mother. Even as a child, she felt responsible for Jean, trying to protect her from her problems, looking after her. And when we first see Jackie, she is becoming her mother—stuck in a small town, drinking too much, in a dead-end job. When she meets Starks she has nothing to lose, and she has no self-protection instinct. She picks up a stranger in a car park, offers him a ride, then lets him stay at her apartment, while she drinks and takes a bath. She is almost inviting harm in a reckless way.”

Gradually, as Jackie begins to believe Starks’ unlikely story, focusing on someone else’s problems gives her a new lease of life: “She chooses to take a chance; to let something happen to her.”

To achieve a believable transformation from sophisticated British beauty to small-town American diner waitress, Knightley relied on cultural cues provided by Maybury. “Jackie doesn’t look after herself, and uses her makeup as a mask—dark circles around her eyes, smudged mascara, messy hair,” explains Knightley. Maybury supplied examples of the influences he wanted her character to reflect, including Edie Sedgwick, a fixture of Andy Warhol’s Factory and star of his film Ciao Manhattan, who eventually self-destructed through alcohol and drugs. Aspects of Courtney Love are reflected in Jackie’s low, lazy voice, as well as a bit of Marlene Dietrich’s languidity. Maybury also gave her a tape of Laura Marano, who plays Jackie as a child, so that Knightley could connect in attitude and gesture with her younger self. “Laura has a direct way of talking, and a certain stance that I could carry through to the older Jackie,” says Knightley.

To reinforce Jackie’s isolation, Maybury encouraged Knightley to spend time alone when she was not working on set. The actress explains that this may have backfired on her director: “We decided that Jackie would listen to a lot of loud music, alone at home, and since I was living in the apartment above John, he got to hear a lot of Jeff Buckley, White Stripes, Nirvana and the Strokes.” Recalls Maybury, “It was a like living underneath a noisy teenager, as Keira liked to dance around her apartment.”

Knightley Scared To Bare Bottom

British beauty Keira Knightley is insecure about her body - and refuses to bear her naked bottom in front of the camera. The King Arthur screen siren recently filmed her first sex scenes in movie The Jacket, and she was anxious to have as few crew members on set as possible. The 19-year-old recalls telling a director, "You're not going to see my a*se! The top half is fine but the bottom half isn't. It's a girl thing. You know, it's just one of those things." Knightley jumped at the chance to star alongside Oscar-winner Adrien Brody in The Jacket because it was unlike any role she'd been offered before. She says, "When I read this script the character was different from anything I had played before and was just really, really exciting." Before her first sex scene, Knightley made special arrangements with director John Maybury: "It was kind of the first time I had done a nude thing. It was cool. It was only John, the cameraman and the focus-puller, so there were only three people."

Now, let's see how many mistakes/lies you can find in this paragraph!

2. The top half isn't fine. Well she did admit she hasn't got a big bust...
3. She's done nude scenes before probably.
4. Does she need Adrien there to make it look like a sex scene, therefore making it at least 4 people?

I dunno, was bored, do explain :D

I am also kind of grateful that I am a nobody of no interest to other people, in any media. If I screw up, asside from my wife, daughter, family & a few close friends, no one will know or care. Anonymity is OK with me as long as my employer spells my name correctly on my paycheck. Who cares if no one has ever heard of Andy. I'm cool with that, but I'm not in the intertainment industry, thank God.

Peace,

Keira Knightley’s Photoshop Breast WorkSource (http://www.defamer.com/hollywood/movies/keira-knightleys-photoshop-breast-work-017452.php)Movie blog Tagline, crazed with the apparent dishonesty of the Touchstone/Disney marketing department’s abuse of Keira Knightley’s chest, did a little more investigation into the issue. They uncover this quote from a Knightley interview with the Guardian:

“I was about three times the size I am now. It worried me, but it was cool, it was a body that was doing what it should do. I haven’t got a clue because I don’t weigh myself, but it was all muscle and I was big. My neck disappeared. My chest flattened even more. It wasn’t the most feminine thing in the world, but it worked for the part…”

Ah, now we get it. The marketing people were on a humanitarian mission to replace the “femininity” Keira sacrificed in the name of her craft! These are noble people. And if their act of mercy sells a couple of extra tickets to spank-happy teenage boys who wind up disappointmed at Keira’s lack of on-screen jiggle, it serves them right for showing up with the wrong intentions.

Pirates of the Caribbean star Keira Knightley has admitted that she is sick of playing "perfect" characters and would like more of her characters to have noticeable flaws.

The actress revealed that she preferred starring in The Jacket alongside Adrien Brody, because her character was darker and more interesting.

"I always think imperfection is much more interesting than the perfect," Breakingnews.ie quote Knightley as saying. "Everyone wants to be perfect but it's boring, it's not real.

"Characters who are deeply flawed are a million times more interesting to watch. You can actually identify with them."

KNIGHTLEY'S OUTGOING PERSONA IS AN ACT

KEIRA KNIGHTLEY's playwright mother sees through her daughter's public persona because she is really an introverted person.

The 20-year-old British beauty is more likely to stay home with her head in a book than out socialising according to mother SHARMAN MacDONALD.

MacDonald says, "She's not an extrovert at all. The way she comes across in her publicity and television interviews is nothing more than a public front. We tend to spend most of our time with our heads buried in a book.

"Reading is like a drug for us. People say it's anti-life, but we can't help it. My father ready three books a day, and the kids have grown up surrounded by them."
wow....... must be a slow day in the news.......

KNIGHTLEY INSPIRED BY LOVE FOR ACCENT

Actress KEIRA KNIGHTLEY studied rocker COURTNEY LOVE's speech to help her prepare for her latest movie.

The British beauty bombarded herself with interviews involving the troubled blonde during six weeks of intense voice coaching to help her attain an American accent for psychological thriller THE JACKET.

Knightley, 20, explains, "She comes from Vermont and first of all I tried to lay it on top of my own English voice and that doesn't work.

"And then the director wanted me to have a much lower, kind of huskier voice. So I worked to lower my tone and be a lot more breathy. That was the hardest thing of all.

"Listening to music helped. I listened to a lot of Courtney Love and tapes of interviews she did. Bits of MICHELLE PFEIFFER as well."

Hollywood beauty KEIRA KNIGHTLEY is desperate to work her LOVE ACTUALLY co-star HUGH GRANT again - because she has a secret crush on the English heart-throb.

Knightley and Grant both starred in RICHARD CURTIS' 2003 romantic comedy - but didn't appear in any scenes together.

The 20-year-old star gushes, "I'd like to do one scene with Hugh Grant.

"I think he's pretty sexy and British as well. We should try and work together."

Knightley and Grant have both been in relationships since last year (04) - with Irish model JAMIE DORNAN and socialite JEMIMA KHAN respectively.

Keira wants American roles

Keira Knightley is hoping to perfect her American accent so she get more roles.

She said: "If you can do an American accent as a British actor then the likelihood is that more work will be open to you."

"As an actor what you want to do is change. I don't want to play the same character for my entire career, that would be supremely boring. As a British actor in Hollywood you get typecast very easily, if you're lucky."

"If you can possibly avoid being the plucky British broad for your entire life, then I do want to do everything I can to fight against that and play as many different characters as possible."

Keira is currently filming the Pirates of the Caribbean sequel with Orlando Bloom and Johnny Depp and her new film The Jacket with Adrien Brody is out next month reports the Radio 1 website.

Knightley Has 'Awful Skin'

Keira Knightley confesses she has "awful" skin and relies on a dermatologist to keep her acne at bay.

The sexy Pirates Of The Caribbean star is frequently voted one of the world's sexiest women - but she insists the truth behind the make-up is completely different.

Knightley, 20, says, "I do not have good skin. I've got really awful skin."

And when quizzed on her perfect on-screen complexion, she reveals, "It's about four hours of make-up actually. And I have a very good dermatologist."

There's an interview with Keira in this week's Heat magazine. To be honest it's nothing new really, I was hoping for some new questions but it's pretty much what we've read before. Also in the section where they spot celebrites - ingeniusly titled 'Spotted' it says: "Keira Knightley canoodling with boyfriend Jamie Dornan after watching him perform in The Girl With The Red Hair at the Hampstead Theatre in North London." I didn't know Jamie was actually in the play - anyone know if he is or if they've got it wrong? lol.

As a model, he may well have been standing around looking pretty. But they probably got it wrong, and it was Keira's dad at the play and Jamie and her were there. Or something like that. Scans, anyone?

Ulster model Jamie Dornan may wish to keep a close eye on his movie star girlfriend Keira Knightley after she admitted to finding one of her recent co-stars sexy.

Knightley, voted one of the world's sexiest women in a FHM magazine poll, said that she was disappointed not to have got closer to Hugh Grant during a film shoot.

"I think Hugh's pretty sexy," said the 20-year-old Hollywood starlet from London.

"I'm just sorry I didn't share a scene with him when we made Love, Actually.

"But I hope I'll get a chance to work alongside him again," she added.

Dornan (21), who made a name for himself after getting through the Belfast auditions for the popular Channel 4 series Model Behaviour, split up with Knightley for a short time last year.

But the pair were soon reunited and spent Christmas together at the Dornan family home in Belfast.

Knightley showed off her Co Down boyfriend to her Hollywood pals recently at the Sundance Film Festival in the US, during a promotion of her latest film The Jacket.

KNIGHTLEY SNUBBED FOR PHANTOM ROLE

British actress KEIRA KNIGHTLEY auditioned for the lead female role in opera blockbuster THE PHANTOM OF THE OPERA, only to be told by casting directors "you can't sing".

The 20-year-old beauty labels the audition the "singularly most embarrassing experience of my entire life" and was relieved when they offered the role of CHRISTINE to trained soprano EMMY ROSSUM.

Knightley says, "I absolutely knew I couldn't sing it. But I went in, and they were like, 'No, no, anybody can sing. Just try it out.'

"And I sang and the guy went, 'You really can't sing, can you?'"

KNIGHTLEY BOASTS ABOUT HER BURN

British actress KEIRA KNIGHTLEY found filming action thriller DOMINO left it's mark - after she ended up with an impressive burn from her machine gun.

And far from bemoaning the injury - which has scarred her face - the 20-year-old beauty, who plays a gun-toting bounty hunter in the movie, is showing off the burn to all and sundry.

She recalls, "I had a machine gun in each hand, and one of the shells jumped out of the back and hit me.

"It's a fabulous burn. I'm very proud of it because everyone looks at it and goes, 'Wow, what happened?'

"I go, 'It was nothing. It was just a burn from my machine gun!' "

KNIGHTLEY'S GUN TERROR

KEIRA KNIGHTLEY has developed an irrational fear on film sets that reduces her to a crying wreck - firing fake machine guns.

The British actress discovered her weakness while shooting upcoming movie DOMINO - which centres on the real-life story of model-turned-bounty hunter DOMINO HARVEY - when she fell to the ground in tears.

And bizarrely Knightley can offer no explanation for her firearm phobia.

She says, "I hated firing the machine gun in Domino. I burst into tears. I fell to the ground and couldn't get up. Don't know why. I know they say when you experience something like that, it's like falling off a horse - you should get back on it.

"I have fallen off a horse and I didn't get back on. I'm scared of horses - I thought, that thing didn't want me on its back. I get that. I just don't need to get back on."

KNIGHTLEY'S LAPDANCE DOUBLE

Actress KEIRA KNIGHTLEY enlisted a stunt double for her lapdancing scenes in new movie DOMINO - because she didn't have time to master the moves.

The British star insists insecurities about her body played no part in director TONY SCOTT's decision to recruit a stand-in to replace her legs and backside in the film.

Instead, it was her incompetence at learning the raunchy dance routines that inspired movie-makers to call in professional help.

She says, "I'd just finished PRIDE AND PREJUDICE, and I hadn't had a chance to train. And I couldn't actually lapdance very well. I did the top half, but a girl called TARIN did the bottom.

"Another girl appeared in the paper saying it was her, but I'd never seen her in my life. I'm sure she's got a great a**e - but not in my film!"

The movie tells the real-life story of DOMINO HARVEY, who turned her back on a modelling career to become a bounty hunter.

Keira's Life Is Perfect

Keira's Steps Out With Her Man

But it hasn't all been a walk in the park for Keira. She revealed she had to fight for the role in the film, as the director was unsure she was ready for it.

Joining Keira at the premiere was co-star Daniel Craig, as well as Jude Law, Rhys Ifans and Cat Deeley.

The Jacket opens on Friday 13th May.

KNIGHTLEY SHUNS PUBLICISTS

British actress KEIRA KNIGHTLEY is refusing to employ an American publicist to boost her profile in Hollywood, because she has no idea what they achieve for their star clients.

The PIRATES OF THE CARIBBEAN beauty has become an A-list name in the competitive movie town, but she's far happier playing pool with her pals than mingling with industry bosses.

And Knightley is so dumbfounded at the phenomenal rate at which her career is gaining momentum, she deems enlisting a publicist a total waste of money.

She says, "I've never seen the point of one. I'm not sure what it is they do, and I think you have to pay them a lot of money. Paying a lot of money for something when you're not quite sure what they do doesn't seem to make any sense at all."

KNIGHTLEY BEMUSED BY CELEBRITY GIFTS
Screen beauty KEIRA KNIGHTLEY is shocked by how many free gifts celebrities receive - especially when they get paid millions of dollars (pounds) for their high-profile jobs.

The PIRATES OF THE CARIBBEAN star admits receiving presents which would normally cost a fortune may be a novelty, but the offerings only started appearing since she became wealthy enough to buy the items anyway - and the irony is not lost on the 20-year-old.

She says, "I got a NORTH FACE jacket yesterday, which was lovely.

"I was so proud of myself for having bought one a couple years ago, and then they give it to me for free and you go, 'Whoa! Wait a minute; how does that work?'"

KNIGHTLEY: 'I'M JUST LIKE BRIDGET JONES'

British actress KEIRA KNIGHTLEY may have an enviably slim figure, but she frequently eats too much and behaves "like BRIDGET JONES on a bad day".

The PIRATES OF THE CARIBBEAN star compares herself to HELEN FIELDING's hapless fictional character as she tries to stick to a gruelling exercise and nutrition regime but usually succumbs to the lure of alcohol and fried food.

She says, "I do love a good fry-up and puddings.

"I go from trying to eat really healthily, hitting the gym every day and being a right boring w**ker to nothing at all.

"Or I'll be drinking way too much and behaving like Bridget Jones on a bad day.

KNIGHTLEY MOVES TO HOLLYWOOD

British actress KEIRA KNIGHTLEY is moving away from her native London to live full-time in Hollywood.

The 20-year-old has bought an exclusive apartment near Sunset Boulevard in Los Angeles, and plans to move in with model boyfriend JAMIE DORNAN as soon as possible.

But Knightley, who is currently filming a sequel to PIRATES OF THE CARIBBEAN, will have to wait until refurbishments on the property have been completed.

An insider says, "Keira and Jamie are both being offered a lot of exciting movie projects, so she just felt it was the right time to buy a property near Hollywood.

"Keira hates staying in hotel rooms. She wanted a place she can make her own."

to be honest, i don't think moving to la is such a smart move... sure it'll bring a few advantages for her international career, but i don't think us movies are better than uk movies... which brings me to the point which bothers me most... Of course it is up to Keira, and i can totally understand why a person would want to live as close to hollywood as poss... but i'm afraid she'll only do us movies and no more independent, but ever so good, movies such as bilb... coz be honest, when did hollywood ever gave us such a movie... Now it's all about special fx and bigger, faster, harder etc... which pleases me as well, but still...

and imo, the uk is such a nicer place to live than the us, i find nothin interesting about living in the states... the uk is where my heart is, and i hope one day Keira returns...

of course i wish her all the best
