Can't connect to mIRC

this is pissing me off. i cant connect to the kkw irc thingy. i got mirc but when i try to conntect it says
unable to connect to server (software caused connection abort)

Connection cancelled

wtf?

has this happened to anybody else, if so how do i fix it?

You got any kind of firewall and stuff? If so, try disable it and reconnect. Some firewalls block mIRC.

Are you able to connect to other servers, just any of the default ones?
