I am also a fan of both (though not majorly!). POTC more so, probably due to the God of a character that is Jack Sparrow. Anyhow, welcome. :)

The LOTR movies are extremely overrated.

28-03-2005, 07:37 PM
Hi I love POTC, but Harry Potter beats LOTR any day! Soz, but that's what I believe. Hi and welcome to the Forums. I'm new to, in factthis is my first ever post. I think Kiera's well pretty, don't you?

28-03-2005, 08:49 PM
The LOTR movies are extremely overrated.

Honestly, they're great.

28-03-2005, 11:22 PM
The first one was great, the other two were mediocre, and overall they're quite overrated.

The only reason to watch the latter two movies would be to finish the story if you haven't read the books and somehow managed to get wrapped up in the cliche. Other than that they have no redeeming value.

28-03-2005, 11:35 PM
You haven't read the books? They are much better than the movie. And no, no. 2 and 3 aren't bad. They are great as well as the first one. Sorry to disappoint you.

28-03-2005, 11:43 PM
No, I haven't read the books.

Maybe if I had, then the movies would be more enjoyable. But as it is, they're just one cliche which is only tolerable for two hours or so of movie time; they did happen to doctor it up with some good execution, however.

That is why the first one is good and the last two are quite poor.

And I'm not at all disappointed at how much you're wrong, though your apology is noted nonetheless.

most people i know who have read the books were disappointed in the movies. not surprising, for how can cinematic depictions match the infinite human imagination? that said, i have not read the books and the movies do not disappoint me :)

29-03-2005, 02:51 AM
you should read the books although if i had seen the movie first i woldnt care to read the books.
