heh. That's the temperature outside, and it's Fahrenheit. It's 26c outside.

I like the background, and it's better than weird questions about why there are pictures of Michael Vartan and Jennifer Garner on my desktop, as there used to be.

Jenifer garden would be good though :p
And does that weather thingy work a bit a correct? I personaly hate al those thingys, they eat ram, and are most of the times 100% spyware

Edit: dont want to post more oftopic but the organicer is indeed really handy thanks baz.

Mags
14-02-2005, 09:54 PM
heh. I'm using one from the Weather Channel, and I do spyware searches pretty often and I haven't had any problems with it. It's helpful though, with how erratic the weather is around here.

Oh topic...love that organizer Baz. It's quite helpful

You know that Firefox has a plugin called ForecastFox that's far better than that weatherchannel bollocks... Sticks a little tab up in the corner with the current temp and conditions. very sweet:

Symantec and McAfee are the number ones for anti virus software.
I hate the crapy extra functions Norton anti virus installs thought.

Foeni
27-02-2005, 07:45 PM
More precisely: Symantic and McAfee are the programs most people know. And they're good both of them, no doubt about it, but AntiVir is better. Have you tried it Pete? I used to use Norton and then I heard about AntiVir from my brother (he knows a lot about computers) and I installed it. It immediately found 3-4 viruses Norton didn't found. And yes, I had it up-to-date (if I don't write it now, you will say that's the reason it didn't find the viruses, right?).

Flightfreak
28-02-2005, 08:06 AM
AntiVir is not better than Norton anti virus or McAfee, the "viruses" AntiVir found were probably mallware/spyware,…,backdoors… Something Norton doesn’t search for. The reason why little programs like that get a recommendation from a lot of people is because they work reassembly good for freeware they get a lot of support to push the price of the licenses of Norton and MacAfee down.
The licenses for Norton and McAfee are very expensive, but they are the best in what they do, keep your pc virus/trojan free. I also speak from personal experience, I maintenance 17 PC’s 4 Laptops and 1mac,…,8 pc's are made by my selve.
In high school I was jointly responsible for a computer class of 22 pc’s (hard and software problems), and taught 2D AutoCAD to my classmates. Now at uni I help configuring the computers in the AutoCAD computer classes.
Anti virus programs from Symantec and MacAfee are recommended by specialists, magazines and websites for years but they are expensive.

anyway, i think we went long enough of topic, so i think Narg would apriciate it much if we went back on topic.
