What's your take on it?

I saw this topic on another forum recently and wondered what you all might say.

I personally don't care for it.

If it's in a novel, I expect it in a movie.

If it's in a serious film, I don't mind. (I didn't mind it in A Clockwork Orange)

If it's in a movie, just so the movie can have boobs, it's annoying. (Van Wilder, and that type of movie)

it depends in whot movies
if it's a kids movie, it's inapropriate
for normal films ..., it's not bad it's in it, if "kids" (13+) view such movies with parents, it's not real bad, they'll see even worse later :p

I don't mind, as long as it's a movie for children. And it's very important to know the difference between nudity and erotic (here I'm talking about close-ups, not porn).

Wha? Don't you mean 'as long as it's not a movie for children?' :icon_conf

serious movie-no problem
comedy-no problem
It's the actor's life, nothing you say will change their lifestyle. If you feel bad for them, then don't watch their movies anymore.

agreed

they put nudity in crap movies to get pubescent little wankers to see the movie a hundred times
if you just wanna look at naked girls go on the internet

Only appropriate if it's a sexy nude scene... Like Will Ferrell's nude scene in Old School.

When it's integral to the storyline then fine, it doesn't bother me much. It's the pointless, thrown in there just so whoever can be seen naked, that bothers me.

I don't care so long as she is hot, the nudity gratuitous and the director exploitative.

(For fans of the hot naked chicks in 'proper' films I heartily recommend 'The Dreamers').

Is that the film where the American is in France, and meets up with those two people? The American sort of looks like Leonardo DiCaprio? If so, I really wanted to see that movie. I'll check it out.

I'm all for film nudity. Its great to see a fit girl expose her babylons on one program one night, then see her fully clothed on a different program the next night and think 'I know what your nipples look like'.

I don't get what the big deal is. I don't see anything wrong with showing off the human body. At fourteen or fifteen years old (at some schools even younger) most kids are learning about sex education in which there are diagrams showing all the parts of the human anatomy. So if they see it in a movie who the hell cares? It's furthering their education I say.
Now I do understand why people might be concerned about younger kids such as kids who are under thirteen seeing nudity, but that's why there's a rating system people. If you don't want your nine year old seeing naked people than don't let them watch anything over a PG rating. It's called parenting!

I don't have any moral objections to seeing nudity in movies. Although, some sex scenes sometimes seem incredibly awkward and out of place if they're just thrown in for the hell of it and aren't all that important to the plot.

It all depends on the "context".
If the "context" is Keira Knightley, Jennifer Garner, Kate Beckinsale, etc. then I am fine with it.
If the "context" is Kathy Bates or Bea Arthur, then I have a problem.
I am all about the art. ;)

That was playing last fall in KC, but only in limited release. Looked really good, but no video rental places has a copy of it:( I'm sad now.
