Apparently she's a Pom? You could then bother trying to find out if she's Anglo Saxon or shit knows what else heritage people from England have. Seems a waste of time to me though...

Ummm ... white with a little bit of white mixed in there somewhere? No, seriously. She seems to be pure Anglo-Saxon and Scottish/Celtic. Who really knows for sure, though?

Haha probably, there's no certain on that anyways... so what's the point? :icon_conf

Generaly the English have either Norman, Anglo-Saxon, and/or Celtic (Irish, Scottish) heritage. In fact some English even have some Scandinavian heritage because the Vikings did rule parts of England at one time. I think her mother is Scottish so there's a good chance she's got some Celtic heritage but her dad's English so he's either the Saxon or Norman heritage or possibly Scandinavian. Whatever her heritage we know one thing, she's as white as they come.

I think she's Welsh, with some Cornish blood. But she would probably call herself British :icon_conf

Yeah, but some of us (Jacoby and myself), tend to make funny answers to questions.

Hey, I wasn't the one who started off saying she was from Puerto Rico. You started it.

her Mother is Scottish (McDonald is a very Scottish name!) She looks quite Celtic to me (Dark Hair: Anglo-Saxons usually have Blondish Hair) Not really sure!

Cause we hadn't heard anything so hilariously incorrect yet. Scroll up to the 2nd post, you'll find that your 'joke' had been posted before :icon_razz Well no, the Puerto Rican version of it, but it hardly differs.

Tsh, ya. She doesn't seem like she's completely caucasian to me. Anglo-Saxon? Highly doubtful. She looks... she just looks mixed. Dunno specifically with what ethnicities, but that's that.

Keira/Kiera means Black Haired (just telling you, not that it really relates)

Knightley is a Norman name, and McDonald is of course Scottish.

Keira has a bit of black scot in her, i.e. spanish blood. Not uncommon for that part of Scotland.

Mr Darcy

Possibly. Though she doesn't look like she's got any spanish blood in her.

There is a lot of Spanish blood on the Scots of the western isles and Ireland, and if I recall correctly it was mentioned in an article that the darkness of her features is due to the spanish influnce on her mother's side.

Rob(who knows more than a wee bit aboot the various backgrounds of the Scots)

There's actually an article in today's Weekend magazine (free with the Daily Mail, UK) which talks about the name Knightley and some of Keira's family history. I'll type it up later. :)

I thought the "darkness" in the Celtic people was mostly leftover genes from an Eastern invasion. The Celts moved to the British Isles afterwards, barring a few splinter groups.

Keira Knightley is an English citizen, and based on my studies of her family, she is likely of English, Scottish, (and hopefully) Irish, although, genetically, the 3 are the same, but not the Irish Spirit and guiness.

Although, what matters these days is the country of which you hold citizenship, so she is English

*Note: Lenahan is Irish.

I thinks she is British and Scottish, but didn't she say somethign about havign a biit of Spanish in her( from the Spanish armada). I heard that from IMBD or whatever that webbie is, but I don't know if thats true.

It's likely that she is part Scots/Irish, or black Irish.
