I know we've had a thread of movie quotes, but I'd like to know what everyone thinks is the most "quotable" movie of all time.
My vote goes to Full Metal Jacket.
Pretty much everything R. Lee Ermey says, from his introduction until the moment Pyle puts that 7.62mm round through his chest is "signatureworthy".
One of my favorites from the scenes in Vietnam is the conversation with the door gunner.
"How...do you...shoot...women and children?"
"Easy...you just don't lead 'em so much!"
What movies do y'all find yourselves quoting?

Monty Python and the Holy Grail is one of the best but I'd agree with Princess Bride and Robin Hood: Men in Tights too.

Withnail and I

Runners Up: Monty Python and the Holy Grail and The Big Lebowski

I'd probably say The Godfather (the entire trilogy, though the first is the best) and Star Wars (the entire original trilogy) are the most quoted movies. Although Monty Python and the Holy Grail has classic scenes.

Rowan Atkinson is the only one worth quoting in that movie.

"It's a race! It's a race!"
"I'm weeeening! I'm weeeeing!"

The stuff with Ben Kingsley is fantastic. The rest of the film isn't as interesting, though.

I agree about it being quotable:

"I gotta change my shirt, it's sticking to me. I'm sweating like a cunt."

"But quite frankly your attitude appalls me. It's not what you're saying. It's all this stuff you're not saying. Insinnuendos."

Or how about...

"Yes! Yes! Yes! Yes! Yes!"

I liked the line "I love you like a rose loves rain water, like a leopard loves its partner in the desert. I know you love me because I feel strong."

Well I don't like the leopard bit so much but the first and the last describe exactly how I feel about someone :D Plus it shows that Sexy Beast isn't really a gangster movie at all but a love story, with a gangster story around it. I LOVE it when films and books keep the love stories subtle, like 28 Days Later or (and my avatar should tip people off to this) 1984.

I joined this forum just so I could respond to the person who said that Withnail and I is one of the most quotable movies ever: I completely agree, I love that movie and I didn't know anyone else had ever seen it.

Other quotable movies:

Rushmore (Anything by Wes Anderson, really)
Fight Club
Caddyshack
The Big Lebowski (And other Coen Bros movies)

And especially the Steve Oedekirk vehicle "High Strung"

Holy thread bump Batman!

And yet, I still think it's Full Metal Jacket. I was able to use this gem, just today:

"Get me some good low-angle stuff. Don't make it too obvious, but I want to see fur and early morning dew."

Priceless.

Hee. Office Space is fantastic.

I've got to say Wet Hot American Summer also. Fantastic. Forever quotable.

"You taste like burger. I don't like you anymore."

Katie (http://www.imdb.com/name/nm0603413/): Listen, Coop. Last night was really great. You were incredibly romantic and heroic, no doubt about it. And that's great. But I've thought about it, and my thing is this. Andy is really hot. And don't get me wrong, you're cute too, but Andy is like, cut. From marble. He's gorgeous. He has this beautiful face and this incredible body, and I genuinely don't care that he's kinda lame. I don't even care that he cheats on me. And I like you more than I like Andy, Coop, but I'm 16. And maybe it'll be a different story when I'm ready to get married, but right now, I am entirely about sex. I just wanna get laid. I just wanna take him and grab him and fuck his brains out, ya know? So that's where my priorities are right now. Sex. Specifically with Andy and not with you.

/me is forced to Netflix Wet Hot American Summer. Again. Some more.

Susie (http://www.imdb.com/name/nm0688132/): Before we start, I'd just like to say the campers you're about to see suck dick! But nevertheless, please welcome them.

More WHAS

Lindsay: What 'cha doing?
Andy: Writing in my gournal. I write my thoughts in it every day.
Lindsay: Oh, you mean a journal?
Andy: Yeah, whatever. I guess I'm not all smart like you.

Gournal, that's classic.

"Oh, you mean Shenanigan's?"
Classic. As well as this gem from the movie:

Farva: I'll just take a litre o' cola.
Dimpus Burger Guy: [into mic] Literacola? Do we sell literacola?
[to Farva]
Dimpus Burger Guy: What's a literacola?
Farva: [slowly starts shouting] Litre is French for…
[grabs burger kid by shirt]
Farva: …give me my fucking cola!

My room mates and I watched it last night. Farva is comic genius. Really even the little things like when he's got the Spurbury PD uniform on and is walking out of the troops locker room and just acts like he didn't do anything. He walks past them going "Oh, excuse me... pardon... excuse." Little stuff like that is just hilarious.

I had forgot the cat game. "Do I look like a cat to you, boy? Am I jumpin' around all nimbly bimbly from tree to tree?"

And where the guy who ate all the pot at the beginning runs out of the closet and goes "I love acid!"
